I've never tried a real S'more but I know that I like the idea of them and after attempting to make our own oven baked S'mores last year we've been trying to perfect our own version. We've been making them in ice cream cornets recently, the ones with the flat bottom. I usually just fill a cornet with marshmallows and chocolate chips (or buttons), wrap them in foil and pop them in the oven on a low heat for 10 minutes. They're delicious with all the gooey marshallow and melted chocolate mixing together for a perfect treat for the kids. But the other day I'd ran out of foil and Miss … [Read more...]

Jack Daniels Jelly Shots….
When I was tidying my kitchen cupboards last weekend (in my defence, I was too ill to go out but well enough to be bored) and I found some cola flavoured jelly that I bought from Morrisons last Summer. I decided to make it up as a treat for the kids for after tea but as I boiled the kettle, I spied the hardly touched bottle of Jack Daniels that had been sitting on the shelf untouched since Christmas. I'm sure you can tell what's coming here.... I made up the jelly following the instructions but didn't add as much boiling water as I was supposed to - I think I left out about 150ml … [Read more...]
Garlic and Lemon Chicken and 10 other super easy ‘dump’ recipe ideas {Batch Cooking} {Slow Cooker}….
Do you have any idea what a 'dump' recipe is? I didn't until I started researching batch cooking recipes but now, thanks to Pinterest, I can tell you that a dump recipe is a recipe that you put together in a zip-lock bag (or other container) and put in the freezer before cooking. You then get it out the night before you're ready to cook it so it's defrosted in time for when you're ready to cook it and because you've already prepared the ingredients, you don't have to do anything else other then cook it either in the slow cooker or in the oven. Lemon and Garlic Chicken 'Dump' Recipe 3 … [Read more...]
Five Ingredient Five Minute Chilli {Slimming World} {Slow Cooker} {Batch Cooking}….
It's no secret that I prefer easy, simple to prepare recipes when I'm cooking. Mainly because I seem to have very little time spare to spend in the kitchen but also because I'm a little bit lacking in the necessary kitchen skills needed to cope with complicated recipes (by complicated, I mean anything that involves more than two pans ;-)). This probably explains the love I have for my slow cooker - I get to throw everything in, give it a mix and then leave it for most of the day before serving a delicious home cooked meal. My recipe for chilli is a great example of how easy it it to … [Read more...]
Homemade Doner Kebab {Slow Cooker} {Slimming World} {Fakeaway}….
Today I'm going to share with you my amazing homemade doner kebab recipe which I'm pretty sure you're going to love as much as we love! Mr Frugal is partial to the odd Doner Kebab - usually swimming in grease and smothered in garlic sauce - and without fail, he always regrets eating it within about an hour of finishing it. So, after hearing about a version of homemade Doner Kebab that you can make in the slow cooker I decided to give it a go and see if my own version could hit the spot like the greasy kebab shop version does. I looked at lots of different versions of this … [Read more...]
