Every week I look forward to the weekend as its the only 2 days of the week that we are all at home together and we always try to do something that we know that the kids will enjoy.As it was so nice yesterday we decided to have a trip to the beach. We live about five minutes away from the beac but we don't go too often as Mr Frugal hates the beach - he hates the sand in his feet and he hates the sea as he says you don't know whats in it. Yorkshire Puddings….
Sunday Dinner wouldn't be Sunday Dinner without Yorkshire puds but no matter what I try I can't seem to get those huge yummy looking ones that you see on the TV!The recipe that I use is 100g of plain flour, 1/2 pint milk and 2 eggs. I heat the oven to the hottest temperature and then preheat the oil in my pudding tins. I do everything that the TV chef's say but.....They just don't work out right. #CookingWithKids – Super Easy Jammy Buns….
We've had a baking afternoon today in an effort to keep the kids entertained while the rain continues outside! We decided to make jammy buns first of all because (a) they're super easy to make, (b) they're delicious and (c) they're super easy to make. ;-) Jammy buns You need: 8 oz self raising flour 4 oz sugar 3 oz butter or margarine a little bit of milk to mix jam * Rub the butter into the flour until it looks a bit like breadcrumbs. * Add the sugar and mix it in. * Mix it together with a spoonful of milk at a time until the mixture looks like a stiff dough. * Roll the … [Read more...]
