1) I made a double batch of my homemade slow cooker tomato sauce and used it for various different meals this week - We had chicken wrapped in bacon with this over the top and some sweet potato fries, we used it as a pizza topping for our homemade pizzas as well as a sauce to go with homemade meatballs and spaghetti. They were all completely different meals so no one really noticed that this was a vital part of each meal. 2) I haven't been feeling amazing this week so I made myself some camomile, honey and lemon ice pops to try and help my throat instead of dosing up on … [Read more...]

OK Monday, let’s do this! 7 things to cheer you up on a miserable Monday Morning….
I don't know about you but I find Monday mornings are the hardest morning of the whole week, especially when it's still dark outside when we're waking up! The kids definitely seem to be grouchier and harder to get out of bed on a Monday and I always ending up hitting that snooze button one time too many on a Monday which leaves me feeling no less tired and if anything, more grumpy than I would have been as I've had more time in bed to think about how much I hate Mondays! Last week was worse than usual as I was feeling ill on the Sunday night so I relied on the kids to get everything … [Read more...]
Five Frugal things I’ve done this week {5th February 2016}….
1) One of the things I wanted to do this year was take care of myself a little bit better and start making time for me and I'm really trying to stick to that. I'm really pleased with my progress at Slimming World and I'm feeling quote good about myself at the moment even though I've got a LONG way to go. As part of my new 'me' regime I bought myself some new nail varnishes and a new lipgloss from our local Pounstretchers - not bad for a pound each! 2) If you pay your council tax over 10 months then this month and next are no council tax months (or at least they are for us). In the … [Read more...]
Five Frugal things I’ve done this week {15 January 2016}….
I hope it's not just me who's counting the days until January pay day! 1) This week I've taken my lunch to work every day which is an achievement in itself for me - especially when you consider that I was able to say the same last week too! It's saves me a fortune and considering it takes me less than five minutes on a night to make then I really need to make sure that I keep it up. I've bought another little packed lunch box this week for my crispbreads and cheese triangles (my current favourite lunch) so now I have my sistema containers for soups and leftovers and this little … [Read more...]
Five Frugal things I’ve done this week to save money {18th December 2015}….
The week before Christmas is a time that I find hard to be frugal and not be tempted by all the goodies in the shops that I know I really don't need and I do buy things that I wouldn't normally buy - it is Christmas after all.... 1. I tried to make some wall art for an extra Christmas surprise for Miss Frugal's little quote wall in her bedroom and it turned out really well - the only problem was that she came downstairs as I was finishing it off and fell in love with it so she ended up taking it back upstairs with her! The 'Throw Kindness Like Confetti' picture image was … [Read more...]
Five Frugal things I’ve done this week to save money {27th November 2015}….
I've been busy this week trying to get as much as possible done for Christmas because I like to be all ready for the 1st December so I'm free to enjoy the month of December without any stress or rushing about. I have to get things done as early as possible because I have so little time free in December between work, school events and other Christmas nights out and fun! 1. I've had a trial run of the no-cook fudge that I want to make as a gift for my lovely team at work - they're all lovely people to work with and are really understanding if I have a poorly child or I need to leave early … [Read more...]
