1) Remember a couple of week's ago, I saved money by spending some vouchers I had on something practical rather than the expensive pair of sunglasses that I had my eye on? I regretted my decision as soon as I pressed buy on the grown up purchases but the cost of the Ray Bans I was lusting after was way too high for me for something I wouldn't get that much use out of. But now, fast forward two weeks and look what I have in my hand.... Now the man who sold me them in Cyprus assured me that they were original and promised me on his life that they weren't fake but I have a sneaking … [Read more...]

Five Fabulously Frugal Things I’ve done this week {29th April 2016}….
This is a special edition of 5 frugal things because it's coming to you live (ish) from the beach where Miss Frugal and I are currently sunning ourselves on holiday.... Holidays are certainly not moneysaving but there are lots of ways to book, pay and plan your holiday before you go that will save you some money so I thought today I'd just share with you some of the ways that we've saved money on our holiday. (I'm not even going to count the shopping around that I did to make sure we had the best deals for the holiday itself, for our travel insurance and for our foreign currency.) 1) … [Read more...]
Five Fabulously Frugal Things I’ve done this week {15th April 2016}….
1) On Tuesday we decided to have lazy tea instead of what we had planned so we used some naan breads from the freezer that I'd bought for 9p, a pathetic looking green pepper, the last of the leftover ham from our Sunday dinner and some pepperoni that Mr Frugal bought on his way home from work to make some cheap but very delicious pizzas. Even the cheese was frugal as I'd bought a bag of pizza cheese a while ago and portioned it up to pizza sizes for the freezer. Miss Frugal isn't a cheese fan usually but she does like pizza cheese and she loves the odd homemade pizza so I try to always … [Read more...]

Five Frugal things I’ve done this week {25th March 2016}….
This week has been all about getting everyone better and caught up with sleep ready for a lovely long weekend of doing all of the jobs I've been wanting to get done around the house. 1. Mr Frugal knows how much I like Orla Kiely and how much I love upcycled furniture so when he saw that someone was selling this little beauty, he was there like a shot to buy it for me for my Birthday. I have no idea where I'm going to put it but I love it and the fact that it's upcycled means it's a thrifty birthday present which is even better. 2. I invested in some new freezer storage containers … [Read more...]
Five Frugal things I’ve done this week {18th March 2016}….
1) Miss Frugal decided that she was suddenly too old for her beautiful pink and turquoise bedroom and that she wanted to go for an all white look instead. I did have a fair amount of white paint leftover from when we did our hall, stairs and landing so I told her I'd help her if she did most of the work and surprisingly, she agreed! She bought the roller out of her own money and set about painting what she could while I helped out with the higher bits. About half way through it was pretty obvious that the paint we had wasn't going to do the whole room but ,rather than buy more paint, I … [Read more...]
