It's been a bit of a busy week here this week but I've still had time to save some money - I even managed to make a bit of extra money as well....I'm not sure if it's a new thing or not but my latest energy bill has a section on that tells me what I would be paying on each of my suppliers tariffs. I noticed it when I got my bill earlier in the week as it said that there was a new online tariff that would save me some money so I rang them and changed over. I do review my energy suppliers every six months or so to make sure I'm on a good deal but I was really pleased that my … [Read more...]

Meal Planning Monday – the looking for inspiration edition….
Can you believe it's June already?I don't know about you but at this time of year, even when the weather isn't great, we tend to eat differently. We eat a lot less of the comfort food style meals like mince and dumplings and macaroni cheese and a lot more simple meals that take less time and energy to prepare - yeay.We change our meal plans in the Summer for a few reasons. I've got back into the habit of cooking the same old meals which is not only boring but it also makes me feel a bit bleugh about cooking so I'm more tempted to not stick to the week's plan. The veggie meals … [Read more...]

Family Friendly Frugal meals – Slow Cooker Chicken Curry….
My freezer is full of supermarket bargains at the minute so we're going to have a cheap week this week hopefully. I managed to get a ham joint reduced to £2.30 the other day so I've cooked that and what we didn't use for tea was sliced up and made up into a few small portions that were put in separate sandwich bags and added to the freezer. I can use them for the wraps on Monday and the pizza on Wednesday. We also got some reduced chicken and cod as well which will do for Tuesday and Thursday night's teas and I even got some cheap sausages for the casserole on Friday night. I know I'm … [Read more...]
