One of my favourite bloggers, Becky, has tagged me to share with you all what I'm doing now. I considered making myself sound very exotic and mature but actually, I really am sat here tonight eating a takeaway in my pyjamas reading a trashy book. Reading: OK, I could lie here and tell you I'm reading some sort of grown up book with deeper meanings but I'm not. I'm actually reading a trashy romance book on my Kindle. They're my guilty secret and l love escaping into a good romance. Listening to: Actually right now I'm listening to that bloody Minecraft tune! Even when it's not on I … [Read more...]

Love where you live – 10 ways to have fun and discover new places in your own home town.
After my moan at the weekend, I've spent this week trying to get on top of things and get us all more organised as well as taking full advantage of the gorgeous weather we've been having. This next month is the busiest of the year for us, as it is for lots of you. We've got end of term fun days, talent shows, school trips, transition days at the senior school for Miss Frugal, leaver assembly, parents nights, residential trips with the school.... I could go on but I won't bore you too much - all you really need to know is that we have a LOT going on! But this week, we actually haven't … [Read more...]
This week’s meal plan (with a difference)….
A little while ago I started to share my meal plans over on my meal planning blog - Meal Planning Made Easy but it felt a bit boring just writing our my meal plan on a Monday as a list so last week I decided I was going to do things a different way. So for the last week or so, I've been posting a picture of our tea along with a recipe or some pointers on how to make your own version! I'm going to keep doing that this week but I wanted to post on here to tell you about it in advance because this week's meals have a bit of a theme going on - they're all going to be made using the 'by … [Read more...]
Seven quick ways to make money….
I've not been around much in the last week or so, mainly because last week was the half term holidays for us and we were busy, busy, busy with hardly any time to sit still for five minutes let alone actually take time to blog! Now that the kids are back at school for their last half term before the Summer Holidays, I'm starting to plan for what we're going to do when they're off which inevitably makes me wonder how we're going to pay for what we'll be doing. Don't get me wrong, we'll be doing lots of cheap and free things but when a trip to the cinema can cost £30 upwards and a day out at … [Read more...]

#EmbraceHappy – Me, Me, Me….
When I heard about the lovely Karin's idea of #EmbraceHappy I signed up straight away as it sounded like a great idea - finding happiness every day! Then I got busy and didn't really have the chance to join in as much as I'd like to but last weekend, I realised that I really do want to join in more because I think I need it. It's April already and between work, school and various bugs that we've all been suffering with, I don't feel like I've achieved very much this year and I certainly don't feel like I've had too much time to do the things that I want to do. So, April is … [Read more...]
