Family Friendly Frugal meals – Slow Cooker Chicken Curry….
My freezer is full of supermarket bargains at the minute so we're going to have a cheap week this week hopefully. I managed to get a ham joint reduced to £2.30 the other day so I've cooked that and what we didn't use for tea was sliced up and made up into a few small portions that were put in separate sandwich bags and added to the freezer. I can use them for the wraps on Monday and the pizza on Wednesday. We also got some reduced chicken and cod as well which will do for Tuesday and Thursday night's teas and I even got some cheap sausages for the casserole on Friday night. I know I'm … [Read more...]

So, I could be tempting fate here but for the first time since Christmas, we've had a good run of 5 days without illness (not including an abdominal migraine attack and a bit of man flu). Add to that the fact that it's half term and the weather forecast is looking OK and you have a very happy me! If you managed to read yesterday's post about Miss Frugal you'll know that I'm having to rethink the food that I include in my meal plans to make sure that there's no processed meat in anything I cook - which is a harder than it sounds! Quick teas like chicken nuggets or burgers are out unless I … [Read more...]

#CookitBlogit – Peanut Butter and Nutella Brownies….
I bet you didn't know it was World Nutella Day on Tuesday did you? Seeing as it is, I decided it would be rude not to blog one of my favourite Nutella recipes and link it up to #CookitBlogit, which is the weekly recipe linky that Emma from Crazy with Twins and myself started last week. You can link up your recipe by popping over to Emma's blog and while you're there, you can check out the delicious looking pie that she's made this week! I'm pretty sure that World Nutella Day isn't an official holiday so we won't get the day off work or anything but least it's an excuse to eat Nutella (if … [Read more...]
