Lots of us have debt of some kind – be it a credit card, store card, a loan of some sort or even just a mortgage. Most of us will be able to manage the debt we have and can make the monthly payments each month with no real concerns but should we be satisfied by that? Shouldn't the real goal always be to become completely debt free? But at what cost, what would you give up in to become debt free? The reason I’m asking is because I saw someone online the other day asking for advice as she was beginning to struggle a bit making her credit card repayments and the first thing that everyone … [Read more...]
What foods are in Season right now….
How do you choose what fruit and vegetables you cook with? Is it based on what you fancy with your tea or do you ever think about what's in season before you decide? I'm usually more of a cook whatever I fancy kind of cook but this year I've decided that I'm going to try and think a bit more about what foods are in season when I plan my meals. There's a couple of reasons for this, the first being that fruit and veg that are in season are usually better value for money because they're readily available and not having to be shipped in from somewhere or grown in a hothouse somewhere. Happy New Year!I bet lots of New Years resolutions have been made this week, many of which will involve saving money in one form or another so I'm hoping that there's going to be lots of entries this month.I was a bit sill last month and I didn't set the dates on the linky right so it was only open for a couple of days rather than the full month - I've checked and double checked this month so it should be OK! ;-)I really do want people to see that being frugal and thrifty isn't the same as being tight or stingy and that there are some many easy and fun ways to save money so the … [Read more...]

There’s no place like home….
Last month marked our five year anniversary of living in this house and although I still stalk Right Move at regular intervals during the year, I do love living here and can't see us moving any time soon. It's a new build house that we bought while it was still being built so we got to choose all the fixtures and fittings and once it got to a certain stage of the build, the developers were happy for me to just pop in and wander around while I pretended that I needed to measure something but really just wanted to see the house again, just to imagine what it would be like with us living in … [Read more...]
