I’d love to tell you that I’m completely immune to being influenced by social media but apparently that’s absolutely not the case. 😂 I think being off work for a while probably hasn’t helped either because I’ve definitely had more time for scrolling lately and social media is very good at making you think you need things you’d never normally even consider buying. Somehow my algorithms have decided that I need a sparkling house, glowing skin, organised kitchen cupboards and a utility room full of gadgets and, if I’m honest, I’ve definitely been persuaded by more than a few things … [Read more...]
Four BIG things that went wrong when we were selling our house….
We accepted an offer on our house in August 2025 but didn’t actually move until the end of February 2026, which is seven months. Even by UK standards, that’s a long time. It was a really stressful few months because at various points it genuinely felt like it could fall through at any moment. We got there in the end though and we’re now in what is definitely our dream house… or it will be once we’ve finished making it ours. 😁 Looking back, there were a few moments that caused delays or unnecessary drama, so I thought I’d share them because if you’re in the middle of a house move, … [Read more...]
{Pre-Loved} The Most Exciting Thing In Our House Right Now Is….
.... A Filing Cabinet! I know. Younger me would be absolutely horrified at what now passes as excitement in my life, but honestly, I’m obsessed with our new pre-loved filing cabinet and the level of organisation that this brings into our lives. There are some things in our new house that my partner has really wanted (our banquet length dining room table and all the car stuff 😁) and there are some things that I really wanted and this filing cabinet is very much a me thing as I hate feeling disorganised and moving house has meant that we have more paperwork than we've ever … [Read more...]
Five little things that have saved us money this week {29th May 2026}….
Every week I share five small things we’ve done to save a bit of money, make life easier or help us spend more intentionally. None of them are usually huge on their own, but that’s kind of the point. Those small choices add up over time and give us more room for the things that really matter — whether that’s days out, holidays, home projects, treats we’ll actually enjoy or just a bit more breathing space in the budget. Hey! 1) Last weekend, we rescued the old water feature in our garden and I genuinely can’t believe we managed to get it working again. 😂 We think it’s … [Read more...]
I Got a Pie Maker for Free… Sort Of…
One of my friends popped round for a catch up a couple of weeks ago and it was the first time they'd been since we moved house so they got the obligatory tour of the house, ending in the kitchen where we put the kettle on and chatted while we waited for it to boil. She spotted a couple of my kitchen gadgets which got us talking about some of the random gadgets we both own and as we chatted, we both realised that we had a stack of kitchen gadgets each in our kitchens - some of which we use all the time and some are just gathering dust at the back of the cupboards. Somewhere in the … [Read more...]
My much-needed refresh day….
Since going back to work, I feel like I’ve been permanently just a little bit behind with life. Not in a dramatic way where the house is falling apart around us or we’re surviving on takeaway every night 😂 but more in the way where all the little jobs that normally make life feel calmer have slowly started piling up in the background. Have you seen that meme that says, “I’m not an early bird or a night owl, I’m a permanently exhausted pigeon”? Well, that has very much been me lately. The human equivalent of a permanently exhausted pigeon. I had seven months off work and, if I’m … [Read more...]
