I absolutely love living in an old house. I love the character, the high ceilings, the big rooms, the wonky little details and the fact that every single corner seems to have a story attached to it. What I do not love quite as much is the fact that every single corner also seems to have a job attached to it.Living in a Victorian reno project sounds very romantic when you say it quickly. It sounds like you spend your weekends wandering around salvage yards, drinking coffee in a sunny bay window and casually choosing between Farrow and Ball colours with names that sound like … [Read more...]
This month’s pre-loved bargains {May 2026}….
Welcome to my monthly pre-loved bargain post - one of my favourite things to write because it gives me an excuse to share the second-hand treasures I’ve brought home lately. 😀May has been the first month since last September that I've felt like me again and have been able to enjoy life fully again after not being very well for a while and I've really tried to make up for lost time this last few weeks and that's meant getting out and about much more than I have done in way too long. We started the month by going to our local boot sale which I hated. It was ridiculously busy … [Read more...]
This month’s pre-loved bargains {April 2026}….
Welcome to my monthly pre-loved bargain post - one of my favourite things to write because it gives me an excuse to share the second-hand treasures I’ve brought home lately. 😀 I said at the start of the year that I really want to take my love of pre-loved shopping to the next level. I knew we'd be moving house in the first few months of the year and was looking forward to searching out things that would look great in our house but I also wanted to take it a step further and buy things that I could resell for a profit as well as some things that could do with a bit of love so I can try … [Read more...]
Decluttering my wardrobe {Two week Vinted update}….
Did you see my post a couple of weeks ago about my wardrobe sort out and mass bulk Vinted listing session? A couple of weeks ago, I finally cleared out my wardrobe and drawers ahead of our house move, mainly because I couldn’t see the point in packing and moving clothes I already don’t wear, especially when I’d been battling to shut my wardrobe doors for months and pretending to myself that it wasn't a big deal. I went through everything properly and made a decision on every single item of clothing that I owned, which was long overdue if I’m honest. Anything that wasn’t staying … [Read more...]
I bought a breadmaker {Pre-loved}….
When I was off work, I spent so much time at home that I got bored enough to rediscover how much I enjoyed making bread. I'm diabetic so I don't eat too much myself but I love making food that my family enjoy and even more than that, I enjoyed the process of making bread. The precise measuring focused my brain when it needed something to focus on, the kneading of the bread gave me a calmness that I find hard to explain and the process of proving the dough gives me almost as much satisfaction as the smells the bread makes in the oven and the feeling of accomplishment when the timer dings and … [Read more...]
This month’s pre-loved bargains {March 2026}….
Welcome to my monthly pre-loved bargain post - one of my favourite things to write because it gives me an excuse to share the second-hand treasures I’ve brought home lately. I'll not go into things too much but I've been poorly for a while now and because of that, I've spent a lot of time at home while I've been waiting for an operation. I tried to get out of the house every day by going for a little walk so most days, I walked into our little village just to get out of the house. There are five charity shops on our high street so you can imagine how many times I've been in each … [Read more...]
