Collagen seems to be absolutely everywhere at the minute.Every time I scroll through Instagram or TikTok, someone seems to be adding it to their coffee, stirring it into a drink or talking about what it’s done for their hair, skin, nails or joints. They must have to sell some serious amounts of it to pay for all the celebrity endorsements, mustn't they?I take it too but not because I was influenced. 😁I use Ancient + Brave collagen and I originally started taking it after a nurse mentioned collagen to me when I had quite a lot going on health-wise. I can’t even … [Read more...]
Why I still blog after all these years….
I started this blog back in 2010 and, if I'm honest, I never imagined I'd still be writing it all these years later. At the time, I was a mum of two young children who had lost both my Mam and my brother within the space of about twelve months. Losing them both in such a short time hit me hard and made me realise just how quickly life can change. It also really made me think about the things I wanted from life and what I wanted to leave behind.I actually had two big reasons for starting the blog. The first was financial. We weren't in the position I wanted us to be and my goal was … [Read more...]
Getting back to being me…
I sit down at the start of every month and write down a few things I'd like to achieve or do over the coming weeks. Last weekend, I was thinking about July, I realised that every set of monthly intentions I've written so far this year has been centred around getting through the month while I was unwell or recovering from surgery. This month, though, they're not. That's when it suddenly dawned on me that, physically, I feel better than I have in well over a year.Looking back, I've spent so much of the last year feeling unwell, waiting for appointments, having surgery and then … [Read more...]
How to do a Digital Declutter…
Now is the time to do a digital declutter and today, I'm going to give you some tips and tricks on how you can declutter and simplify your digital life.I can't recommend a digital declutter enough. I can't work at a messy desk because it drives me mad and, as daft as it sounds when there are much bigger things to worry about in the world, it genuinely stresses me out. I'm exactly the same with my phone and laptop. When my inbox is overflowing, my desktop is covered in random files, my phone is constantly pinging and I can't find the photos or documents I need, it all starts to feel a bit … [Read more...]
All the ways I’ve been ‘influenced’ lately….
I’d love to tell you that I’m completely immune to being influenced by social media but apparently that’s absolutely not the case. 😂I think being off work for a while probably hasn’t helped either because I’ve definitely had more time for scrolling lately and social media is very good at making you think you need things you’d never normally even consider buying. Somehow my algorithms have decided that I need a sparkling house, glowing skin, organised kitchen cupboards and a utility room full of gadgets and, if I’m honest, I’ve definitely been persuaded by more than a few things … [Read more...]
The little things I’ve done to feel ready to go back to work….
Going back to work after being off for over six months feels much bigger than I expected it to.When I first went off, I think I assumed life would somehow pause for a little while and then I’d just slot neatly back into my old routine as soon as I was feeling better. But life doesn’t really work like that, does it? Things happen while you’re away from your normal life and sometimes those things change you a little bit.The last six months have definitely shifted my priorities and made me realise how important happiness, balance and peace of mind are to me. It's not like … [Read more...]
