We've been trying to fit in a visit to Cadbury World in Birmingham for a while now but it wasn't until last week that we actually managed to get there and it was only in the car on the way there that I discovered that everyone had their own reasons for being excited about going. You see, I was looking forward to it just because I like to visit new and interesting places with the kids but Mr Frugal was only coming along because he'd heard there would be free chocolate and the kids just wanted to meet an Oompa Loompa ;-)We all enjoyed our visit but Miss Frugal in particular had a great … [Read more...]
Conker Chaos….
We've had such a busy time lately that we decided last weekend was going to be a do nothing weekend and for the most part, we succeeded in doing absolutely nothing that didn't involve pyjamas and blankets ;-)But by Sunday night we needed to get out and do something so we put our wellies and coats on since it was looking a bit grey outside and headed to the park for a conker hunt. The park where all the good conkers can be found is about 15 minutes drive away and I'm not exaggerating when I say that by the time we go there the rain was bouncing and the sky was so dark you'd think the end … [Read more...]
Slow Cooker Leftover Frittata….
I've posted this week's meal plan over at Meal Planning Made Easy but for those of you who haven't ventured over there yet or don't meal plan, I wanted to share a recipe that I posted on there over the weekend. It's for a frittata made using whatever you have in the bottom of your fridge that needs using up and uses the slow cooker which means it's super easy to make....As far as the recipe goes, there isn't actually one because it depends what you have in to use up but I can tell you the recipe for the version that I just made and you can adapt it as you want/need to....3 (ish) cold … [Read more...]
Review: Airkix Manchester….
It was taken last weekend at Airkix in Manchester where we had a go an indoor skydiving (by we, I mean everyone but me ;-)). It was an amazing experience and one which I would definitely recommend doing it at least once. I know what you're thinking and it's also not nearly as expensive as you might think with prices starting at £29.99 for two flights for a first time flyer. As well as the actual flights, the price includes a full training and safety briefing by a qualified instructor before you enter the wind tunnel as well as a certificate afterwards. While they were doing their … [Read more...]
I’ve been busy….
Does anyone else ever feel like they could do with an extra couple of hours in the day just to stand a chance of doing everything you need to do? Because that's definitely how I'm feeling lately!Don't get me wrong though, it's been mostly busy in a good way - we're settled on a school for Miss Frugal, the kids are loving the out of school activities they've chosen this year and we've managed to do LOTS of fun things together.I've even had time to start working on some new projects of my own, two of which are up and running properly so I thought I'd declare them officially open and … [Read more...]
Remember Twinkle….
One of my most treasured possessions is a video from my sixth Birthday party - mainly because it never fails to cheer me up. Not only can I can shut my eyes and listen to my Mam, my brother and my Nana's voices and pretend they're still here with us, I also have the option of keeping my eyes open and laughing my way through the dodgy hairstyles and jumpsuits that they're all wearing. Also, the cake never fails to make me giggle. Remember those toilet roll holders that were made up of a doll wearing a big knitted skirt that covered the toilet roll? Well it was a cake version of that and … [Read more...]
