I love weekends!Today's been another lovely day, although it didn't exactly go according to plan! SaturdayLunch - Cereal and toast.Tea - Home made Wraps with cajun chicken for the grown ups and ham and cheese for the mini frugals. Frugal Fondue for pudding.SundayLunch - American Style Pancakes if I can be bothered to make them.Tea- Minced beef and onions, yorkshire puddings, roasties and veg - again....MondayLunch - SandwichesTea - Chicken dippers with oven chips and mini corn on the cobs for the kids. Teddy Bear’s Picnic….
Despite the fact that it's not exactly picnic weather outside, Miss Frugal has decided to have a teddy bears picnic in the back garden. She's out there with her favourite teddy bears and some chocolate spread sandwiches trying to look like she's not freezing cold. Kitchen Disaster…. Again….
Just when I think I'm getting better at this Domestic Goddess lark I go and do it again - I manage to have another complete disaster in the kitchen.These are the burnt crusts from the ham and cheese quiches I have just lovingly baked. Anyone got any spare Ferrero Rocher….
Here's a random fact for you - the world record for eating the most Ferrero Rocher in one minute is 7! They muct be having a laugh, I'm sure it must be more than that - I could eat 7 of those little balls of chocolate heaven in less than 30 seconds.I would be happy to attempt to break this world record if I could persuade my husband to go to the shop for me but so far he's having none of it ;-)Just for the record, I'm also pretty sure I could polish of a 12 inch pizza in less than 1 minute 45 seconds to beat the world record for that one although I'm not sure if I can beat the … [Read more...]
Back on the Wagon….
I fell off the meal planning wagon last week and spent a fortune. Without a meal plan, I did our usual weekly shop, had three extra trips to the shops midweek and ended up having two takeaways. How bad is that?I need to get back to being organised as it looks like Mr Frugal's last couple of months doing nights at work is coming to an end. Recently he's been at home all day so he's managed (just) to cope with cooking tea.
