Welcome to my monthly pre-loved bargain post – one of my favourite things to write because it gives me an excuse to share the second-hand treasures I’ve brought home lately. 😀

May has been the first month since last September that I’ve felt like me again and have been able to enjoy life fully again after not being very well for a while and I’ve really tried to make up for lost time this last few weeks and that’s meant getting out and about much more than I have done in way too long.
We started the month by going to our local boot sale which I hated. It was ridiculously busy and I was a bit disappointed that the majority of the sellers seemed to be professional sellers which it isn’t usually. We had a little wander and then decided to leave and go for a wander by the beach instead! 🏖
We might have left the first boot sale of the year (for us) empty handed but I think I’ve made up for it since then… 😁
I spotted my first bargain of the month sitting on a charity shop we stopped in after a trip to the farmers market – a pair of Vintage Emanuel Ungaro sunglasses.

I’ve been looking for a pair of sunglasses to keep in the car so I picked these up as soon as I saw them as I surprised myself by loving the over the top gold detailing at the sides. I did really like them but the price tag of £12 felt a bit much for some sunglasses so even though I liked them when I tried them on and they were definitely good value for a pair of Ungaro sunglasses, I decided to put them back and keep looking.
But then, half way down the road, I changed my mind and decided to go back and get them after all as I thought that they were too good to leave on the shelf.
I bought them and then immediately (as you do) took a photo of them and tried to find them online to see if they were actually worth something. I had no intention of selling them as I really liked them but the price tag of an identical pair that I’ve seen on Etsy for £175 makes me feel like I’ve got myself a proper bargain.
I know that just because someone has them listed for that price doesn’t mean that that’s how much they’re worth but they’re the exact ones that I have and other similar ones online are selling for between £100 and £200 so I’m pleased with my bargain sunglasses.
Next up is another treat for me. 😁

I bought myself a Filofax from Vinted for £10 because, after we moved house, I have bits of paper all over the place with measurements, plans and notes for the house as well as so many business cards that I don’t want to lose. I also have loads of notes and invoices from my hospital treatment and all kinds of other random things so I thought that if I could have them all in one place then I would be a much more organised human.
I’ve managed to get into a bit of a routine where I’ll sit in our Dining room on a Sunday morning with my Filofax, my meal planner and our shared calendar and just plan the week ahead and update anything that needs updating from the previous week.
I also have this little beauty to share with you which we bought from a vintage furniture shop for £10.

It’s a Victorian ‘whatnot’ and it fits perfectly in the corner of our living room in a gap that I’ve wanted to fill since we moved in although it’s most definitely not my usual style! I’ve never really liked dark wood but our front room in the new house has dark wood shelving in there and a dark wood mantel shelf so it goes perfectly in the room.
We’re leaving the living room exactly as it is for now even though it’s not our taste and absolutely needs a full makeover because we just need a room in the house where nothing is touched so we can relax on a night after a day of chaos everywhere else in the house as we renovate one small job at a time.
I do like it though and have plans to style it with a photo and some books along with the plant that’s already on there.
As an added bonus, I’ve seen a couple of identical stands online selling for upwards of £80 so I love that we unintentionally bought a really good bargain.
I use Google Lens Search to get an idea of value for some of the things that I’ve bought – I just take a photo of the item and click on the little camera icon next to the microphone in the Google search bar which is where I’ll upload the photo of the item I want to search for.

Google will then show me the images that it can find that match my photo although if you’re trying it yourself then just be aware that they’re not always the exact match so double check it’s your exact item and not just something similar.
The last things that I’m sharing in this month’s post are my new (to me) books. 📚
We have so many shelves in our new house so I’ve been buying books that I like the look of with the hope of one day, actually having the time to read them. We didn’t have much space for books in our last house so I feel a bit like a kid in a sweet shop being able to buy all the books again.
I have little stacks of books around the house like this that I’m waiting to read…

But I also have this beautiful book from the 1990’s that I bought for 50p just because it looked so pretty.

I bought it because it’s beautifully illustrated and so pretty and when I’ve done some research (again, thanks to Google Lens), I’ve learned that it’s actually a 1994 reproduction of an Edwardian gardening journal and it’s selling online in several different places for around the £30 mark so it’s a real bargain too.
I didn’t know what to do with it once I’d read through it and enjoyed it so I’ve popped it on our lamp table and sat the lamp on top of it. I’m sure there’s something better I can do with it but I just don’t want to hide it away on the bookshelf with the other books.
That’s it for the bargains I’m sharing this month. See you again next month for more… 👋
If you want to find out more about how I find bargains on Vinted then this how to buy on Vinted post is perfect for you – it’s the perfect place to start if you want to start finding some pre-loved bargains of your own.
Also, I know that money is tight for many of us right now so I did just want to say that usually when I buy anything pre-loved, I try and only use money that I’ve made from things that I’ve sold on Vinted so I rarely pay actual money for anything you see that I’ve bought from there. Here’s a post about how much I made in a weekend selling on Vinted a little while ago to give you an idea!
If you do decide to sign up to Vinted, I’d be super grateful if you use my refer a friend link. 😁
So that’s what I’ve bought pre-loved this month. I’d love to see your bargains so feel free to tag me in any Instagram posts and I’ll pop over and see what you’ve been buying!
