Welcome to my monthly pre-loved bargain post – one of my favourite things to write because it gives me an excuse to share the second-hand treasures I’ve brought home lately. 😀
I said at the start of the year that I really want to take my love of pre-loved shopping to the next level. I knew we’d be moving house in the first few months of the year and was looking forward to searching out things that would look great in our house but I also wanted to take it a step further and buy things that I could resell for a profit as well as some things that could do with a bit of love so I can try my hand at thrift flips.
The year hasn’t gone according to plan though so it’s taken me until now to feel like I can put my plans into action…

So, hopefully from now, each month I’ll be sharing a mix of the things I’ve bought second-hand, the bargains I couldn’t leave behind, what I’ve flipped, what I’ve resold, and of course… the pieces I’ve kept because they were just too pretty to part with!
First up, I sold two chairs that I bought from a friend last year. I had a vision of them going in the corner of my little home office and genuinely planned the room around the deep emerald green colour…

But when we finished the office this week and put the chairs where I wanted them, they just filled the space and took over it a little bit so I listed them on Facebook Marketplace. I checked with my friend first though in case she wanted them back as she has sold them cheaply but she said she’d just wanted rid of them so I could do whatever I wanted with them as long as she didn’t have to have them back. 😁
I put them up for the same amount that I’d paid for them (£15 each) and not surprisingly, my phone went crazy!
I’ve sold a few other bits on Marketplace and Vinted this month but nothing exciting – I’m actually planning a bit of a listing afternoon tomorrow afternoon as there’s a few bits we’ve been wanting to list but just haven’t had the chance lately so hopefully they’ll sell quickly and I’ll have lots more to share next month.
Next up, I have some pre-loved finds to share with you that we have found in our new garden and given them a new lease of life…![]()
The big stone planter that our hydrangea bush is in was at the end of the garden covered in green moss and filled with soggy mud. We emptied it out and gave it a good clean and just look how amazing it looks!
The owl was under a bush and we literally just moved him to stand by our front door – I think it needs a bit of a clean but he looks good as he is so for now, he’s escaped the washing up liquid scrub that the planter got. 😁
The other two planters were thrown in a pile of about forty planters at the end of the garden so we gave them a quick wipe over and planted them up. The one that looks empty is actually my entry to out ‘who can grow the tallest sunflower’ competition so I’m hoping it’s not empty for too much longer. 🌻
We also have random pots planted up along the front of the house with tomatoes, mint, radish, sugar snap peas with basil and peppers growing on our windowsill ready to move outside in a couple of weeks.

Honestly, in a previous life, I would have wanted all new and matchy matchy containers so everything looked neat and perfect but my tastes have changed so much and this house just isn’t that kind of house so I’m just going with the flow and I’m happy that we used what we had available to us as it looks great (to us at least 😁).
For my next little lot of bargains, I’m going to invite you into my office for a quick tour.
I call it my office but I actually don’t know if I can work in there as I much prefer to be downstairs in the middle of things but we have a spare room upstairs and thought we would make it an office as I work from home three days a week and I like the idea of being able to close the door at the end of the working day and not think about work again until the next day which is hard to do when your desk is in the dining room.
So…
This is my world map which, for some reason, doesn’t look nearly as big in this picture as it is in real life. It’s a lovely shade of blue with all of the countries in different tones of metallic gold. I absolutely love it and coulcn’t believe it when I spotted in on Marketplace for £5!

The opposite wall to this one is painted in a sage green and I bought the world outline from Vinted for £8 and it looks amazing but it’s not as big as I thought it would be if I’m honest.
The Oh La Laa picture was one that I bought the month before we went to LA a few years ago and it used to hang on my dining room wall in my old house but I think it looks perfect here about the writing bureau that I really regret painting yellow now. 😁

The candlestick holder was 50p and I bought the candle in there from Primark so it didn’t cost much at all.
This print cost me 50p from a boot sale last year and it’s been sitting in a box waiting for me to put my office together ever since. It’s missing the glass and the frame is a bit battered but I love it like it is so it’s just going to sit on my desk forever. 😍

And my last pre-loved bargain from my office is my new work bag which I bought to replace the one I was using last year as I think I’m over using a flourescent pink rucksack to carry my laptop to and from work. 😁
This Radley bag is actually a deep khaki colour and has space in there for my laptop, lunch and even my water bottle so I’m going to be all mature and sophisticated when I go back to work.

It cost £8 and looks brand new to me so it’ll be a good buy and if I decide to go back to my rucksack then I can sell it on Vinted and I reckon I’ll get at least my money back.
If you want to find out more about how I find bargains on Vinted then this how to buy on Vinted post is perfect for you – it’s the perfect place to start if you want to start finding some pre-loved bargains of your own.
Also, I know that money is tight for many of us right now so I did just want to say that usually when I buy anything pre-loved, I try and only use money that I’ve made from things that I’ve sold on Vinted so I rarely pay actual money for anything you see that I’ve bought from there. Here’s a post about how much I made in a weekend selling on Vinted a little while ago to give you an idea!
If you do decide to sign up to Vinted, I’d be super grateful if you use my refer a friend link. 😁
So that’s what I’ve bought pre-loved this month. I’d love to see your bargains so feel free to tag me in any Instagram posts and I’ll pop over and see what you’ve been buying!
