I love a good Secret Santa with my friends at work but we generally opt for a lower budget because, let's face it, Christmas is expensive enough as it is.We've had a year where we set the budget at £1 per person with the idea being that you had to get the most creative gift that you could for that amount. We got all sorts of gifts from candles to cactus plants dressed up as Santa and it was much more fun than opening the inevitable chocolates, biscuits and alcohol that we would have no doubt seen if we'd had a higher budget. This year, we're going for a slightly higher budget of £5.00 … [Read more...]

Seven ways to appreciate what you have at Christmas….
This time of year, more than any other, makes me realise just how lucky I am.I could focus on much loved family and friends who are no longer with us or one of a number of things that are on my mind right now but instead I'm choosing to think about the good things in my life because they massively outweigh the things that make me sad!I have a lovely family with children who amaze me and make me proud every day, a good job which I am lucky enough to only work part time hours at, a lovely home near the sea and some fantastic friends - both on and offline. Lots of people don't have that … [Read more...]
Five Frugal Things we did this week {18 November 2022}….
Every week I share five frugal things that I've done during that week just to show you that the small things you do all add up to a great frugal lifestyle where you can learn to live a fabulously frugal life. Hey! 👐1) Master Frugal is now up and running with his provisional driving license and is ready to start learning to drive. And now we're here and I'm writing my 2022 intentions post and I'm no further forward than I was at this time last year in some areas that I thought I would have made progress on.I'm not going to let things stop me this year because … [Read more...]
8 reasons why buying second-hand clothes is the future..
Today, I've got 8 reasons why buying second-hand clothes is the future for you. :-) I'm not going to lie, I think reason one is enough all on its own but I added the rest in case you still needed a bit of persuasion.I shared a post a couple of weeks ago where I asked the question 'Are charity shops too expensive?' and it got me started on all the reasons why buying second-hand clothes is the way to go. My reasons started to take over the whole post so I dialled it back and copied it over to this post as this topic really does deserve a post of its own.I share a post every … [Read more...]
