If you’re short on time or trying to stretch your food budget a little further, learning how to cook once and eat twice (or more) can be a total game changer and you know what? It's ridiculously easy to do. Meal planning, more specifically batch cooking is all about making the most of your time in the kitchen — cooking a bigger batch of whatever you're cooking or planning clever ways to turn one meal into two meals. Less effort, less washing up and less money!I've shared so many posts over the years about batch cooking with tons of ideas that I think will absolutely help you to save … [Read more...]
We bought a house….
I am so excited to finally be able to say WE BOUGHT A HOUSE!I've mentioned it very vaguely on here a few times in the last six months but never really gone into too much detail as we started this whole stressful house moving process last July and until the day we moved, I never fully believed that it was actually going to happen. It took over eight months from us viewing the house we now live in to getting our keys but now we have got them and we're moved in, I am so happy to finally be able to say that we now live in our dream home. I'll be honest though and say that it's … [Read more...]
Decluttering my wardrobe before we move house….
Moving house has a funny way of forcing decisions you’ve been quietly avoiding.I've been struggling to close the doors on my wardrobe for a good six months now and if I open a drawer then I always know it's going to be a battle to close it again but I've been ignoring it because sorting through my clothes is a task I most definitely was not looking forward to. It's not that I buy a lot of clothes but when I moved out of my home, I didn't take all of my clothes as I didn't have space for them all. I took what I needed and the rest was stored away in the garage and I bought new (or … [Read more...]

Five Frugal Things we did this week {20th March 2026}….
Every week I share five frugal things that I've done during the previous week just to show you that the small things you do all add up to a great frugal lifestyle where you can learn to live a fabulously frugal life. Hey!1) I found a pound on the floor when I walked down into our village high street on Sunday so I thought I'd use it to buy a scratch card. 😁 I won £10 so cashed it straight in and went to the charity shop where I bought myself a pair of trousers that I'll wear loads (Next, brand new with the tags still on them) and a pair of Zara trousers … [Read more...]
How we holidayed in the South of France for £235 per person….
At 23 and 20, I find it difficult to know what to buy the kids for Christmas. They have lives (and homes) of their own and as they both earn their own money, if they want something, they generally buy it straight away or save for it out of their wages which makes them hard to buy for. Add that to the fact that I've been a huge fan of giving experiences over gifts since they hit their early teens when they're old enough to understand the value of an experience rather than a big present and you can imagine the time that I usually spend of trying to think of the perfect experience related … [Read more...]
