A Christmas Frugal Family Update….
Lots has been going on in the Frugal Family house over the last few months so I thought I'd give you a bit of a family life update and share some of our Christmas decorations at the same time today... You might have seen in a couple of posts lately that we have a new addition to our little family! This is Monty, our new little puppy! He's a cross between a Bichon Frise and a Shih Tzu and he's an extremely cheeky, mischievous little guy who's demanding a lot of attention right now. We're working on the toilet training and so far, he's been a good boy who hasn't done any damage … [Read more...]
How to write a simple will in less than 10 minutes….
I apologise for the lack of Christmas Spirit in this post, writing a will is something that's been on my mind for a while for a couple of reasons... This year hasn't been the easiest year for us as a family if I'm honest. My dad's been quite unwell and it's been heartbreaking to see him deteriorate so quickly. He's just recovering from a second hip replacement surgery and is definitely not the same old Dad that I'm used to these days. I'm not going to get into it too much but I will say that this year has made me even more aware than ever that we're not here forever and that it's … [Read more...]
Christmas Waffle Recipe….
This amazing Christmas Waffle Recipe genuinely tastes of Christmas and I guarantee you're going to love it if you try it! Those mornings are my favourite Sunday mornings because I just potter about the kitchen in my pyjamas and take my time making a lovely family breakfast for us all to enjoy together. We managed one of those mornings yesterday and this is what I … [Read more...]
How (not to) organise a photo wall or photo shelf….
We've had an amazing year for travel this year as a family and I really wanted to print out some of our photos to showcase some of our adventures. Jen suggested a photo shelf on the back wall of my kitchen would be nice so off I popped to IKEA to pick up a couple of them and some photo frames to use on the shelf. I love, love, love how it looks now but I'll be honest, it did take me a week and a couple of attempts to get it right! I thought you might like to see the step by step process in case you want to make your own photo shelf or wall.... (Top tip - before following these … [Read more...]
Girls Christmas Shopping Day in London….
We're huge fans of rail travel and over the years, I've shared so many of our train journeys with you. Last weekend was one of my favourite train journeys yet... Miss Frugal and I, along with one of her friends, decided to have a bit of a cheeky Christmas shopping day in London to mark the start of December. The men of the house decided that a shopping day in London was definitely not something they wanted to do so they stayed at home and did boy stuff (not sure what but it involved football, gaming and McDonalds). You might think we were a bit mad braving London on the first weekend … [Read more...]
