Working from home isn't as easy as I thought it would be and I realised quite quickly that I needed my own little space to work from. The problem is that I had absolutely no space anywhere to fit one in. Working from home is something that I've had the luxury of being able to do for a while now, even before the start of Lockdown, but honestly, I much prefer working from the office than from home. I feel like I'm more productive in work and I do like being around people so I've pretty much worked from the office for most of the last few months. I've got no plans to start working from … [Read more...]

This week’s meal plan {2nd March 2020} ….
Oh my word, how is it possibly March already? Remember last week when I did all that batch cooking? Well, it's a good job that I did because I ended up unexpectedly working away for half the week so if I hadn't have been so prepared then I can easily see last week descending into a week of takeaways and junk food without me here. ;-) It was brilliant to be so far from home and still be able to let the kids know what was for tea! I still have some mince and onions and some bolognese in the freezer from my adventures last weekend and I made a big batch of … [Read more...]

Read on to find out why we're planning a handmade Christmas and what that looks like for us... How I achieved the perfect work, life, blog balance…
Blogging with a full time job is easier than you might think! Today's a bit of a different kind of post for me - it's all about how I manage to have a great work, life, blog balance! I've been asked a couple of times lately how I manage to balance a full-time job, a happy home life and blogging so I thought I'd share a little bit about my life and tell you how I do it. First, a bit of background. One of the reasons I started this blog was to document our journey into living a more frugal lifestyle - something that we needed to do as I wanted to have the flexibility of working less … [Read more...]
September’s Frugal Fails – because I’m not always as frugal as you might think!….
This may come as a surprise to you (although more than likely not) but I'm not always a shining example of frugal-ness. ;-) I spend so much time on here sharing ways to save money and ideas on how to be frugal and rarely share much of the non-frugal side of my life so I thought I'd start a monthly post to share some of the slightly non-frugal things I've done! I hope it shows you that no-one's perfect This is the second post in my frugal fails series- the first is here and the second one is here if you want to see the last few month's frugal fails. Frugal Fail #1 - … [Read more...]
Mini £15 Charity Shop Haul…. #SecondHandSeptember
As part of #SecondHandSeptember, we decided to share a mini charity shop haul with you to show you some of the bargains you can pick up. Last week, I told you all about why we were joining in with #SecondHandSeptember and I promised a mini charity shop haul so that's what today's post is all about. I roped Miss Frugal in to help me with because (a) she has a little mini eBay business that she set up as she couldn't get a Summer job and (b) she's a teenage girl who knows her own style and has never (until recently) been a fan of wearing charity shop clothes. Basically, I … [Read more...]
