OK, you might not think that a blog about frugal living isn't the best place for a post about how to buy designer handbags for less and to a certain extent, I agree. But.... The reason I'm sharing this post with you today is because, to me, being frugal is all about making the best of what you have and getting the best deals for everything you buy. If you want to buy a designer handbag and you can afford it then that's brilliant and I want to show you where you can get designer handbags for less. I've always had a weakness for handbags although I don't make frivolous purchases … [Read more...]

Five Frugal Things we did in the Isle of Wight {11th August 2017}….
Last week we had a week away in the Isle of Wight where, despite the rain and the wind which was ridiculous at times, we had an amazing week. I actually wrote this while we were there (we came home last weekend) and intended to share it with you last Friday but the wifi was so bad that I didn't manage to post it so I hope you're OK with this week's five frugal things being a week behind.... 1) We’ve only eaten out once as we’ve made full use of the caravan’s teeny tiny kitchen. It’s not easy cooking for five in a small, not very well equipped caravan kitchen but we’ve tried our best and … [Read more...]
Five Frugal Things I’ve done this week {28th July 2017}….
1) We're have a lovely first week of the Summer holidays and have managed to get by without spending much money at all. I've been working until 3.30 each day but the kids have done various things like trampolining and swimming with friends while I've been out and we've had some chill out time together when I've been home as we were all exhausted. We've had so much going on and I just need a break really so walks to the beach on a night have been just what we've needed! 2) I've had a look at the kids school uniforms and short of two Summer Holiday growth spurts I think we'll be OK to … [Read more...]
Five Frugal Things I’ve done this week {21st July 2017}….
1) I should have shared this last week but I completely forgot about it! It's a good one so I'm sure you don't mind me sharing it this week instead, right? Basically, Miss Frugal's bedroom drawers fell apart and no amount of glue was going to save them this time around (they're the one's we bought for her nursery before she was born) so we popped to IKEA to buy the Malm drawers and bedside cabinet that she's had her eye on for the last year! As we always do, we headed to the Bargain Basement as the last stop before paying where we found the same set of drawers that we had in our … [Read more...]
Five Summer Holiday Sanity Savers….
In my mind, I have a lovely Summer planned which will allow me to successfully juggle my work and my blogging as well as making sure that I have more than enough time to spend with the kids enjoying long lazy days in the sunshine. Whether that actually happens or not is another matter but I'm going to have a good go! ;-) I shared a post last week about how I cope with the Summer Holidays as a working mum and manage working AND family time AND blogging without having a nervous breakdown. I wanted to follow on from that post a little bit this week and share some of the things that I use … [Read more...]
Five Frugal Things I’ve done this week {14th July 2017}….
1) Did you see my homemade sunglasses case on Sunday? It's my first sewing project and I'm over the moon with it just because I know I made it myself! 2) I'm a bit of an Ed Sheeran fan, not a mega fan but I do enjoy listening to his music so when the tickets went on sale last Saturday I was determined to get some tickets for me and Mr Frugal to go along. I waited and waited in a queue and finally got to the front and actually managed to get some tickets allocated with a ten minute timer to make the payment before they were released to the next person in the queue. But then I … [Read more...]
