I'm trying to be more aware of the costs of our meals lately so I can share my cheapest meals with you in a series of posts and the first thing I thought of was homemade pizza. I feel like I haven't been in total control of our finances as much as usual for the last nine months or so with me not being very well but March seemed like a great time to put that right as I've been feeling so much better lately and both our home and car insurance were up for renewal as well as my phone contract finally coming to an end. All of the talk around me at the moment about who got into what school has reminded me of last year when poor Master Frugal didn't get his first choice school.  I thought I'd tell you a little bit about our experience in case it helps someone else.... Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer! I can't remember where I first read this travel quote (it was probably a Facebook meme to be honest) but the words really stuck with me. I love the idea of Valentines Day as a day to celebrate your love  but I really don't think all of the commercialisation of the day is necessary.  Almost as soon as Christmas was over, the shops were stocking up on all things pink and red in preparation for the day when couples feel almost obligated to buy something that costs more than it should just because it's pink, red or has a heart on it to show how much they love their partner.
