OK, you might not think that a blog about frugal living isn't the best place for a post about how to buy designer handbags for less and to a certain extent, I agree. But....The reason I'm sharing this post with you today is because, to me, being frugal is all about making the best of what you have and getting the best deals for everything you buy. If you want to buy a designer handbag and you can afford it then that's brilliant and I want to show you where you can get designer handbags for less.I've always had a weakness for handbags although I don't make frivolous purchases … [Read more...]
Small things that make me smile {August 2017}….
The last 12 months haven't been easy for us as a family - first I spent the last half of last year feeling less than brilliant and then this year there's been such a lot going on that I've been ridiculously stressed about. I think things are starting to sort themselves out now so I'm ready to share a little bit about what's been going on although I'm probably not going to go into much detail - I will say that after a lot of tears (from me), shouting (from my usually lovely Dad) and hugs (from Mr Frugal and the kids) my now lovely again Dad is living in a care home as it's clear that … [Read more...]

If you went to any festivals last Summer or already this Summer then the chances are that you've seen the LaySac already (or something similar like the Laybag or the Lazybag).Just in case you haven't this is what one looks like:It's basically a big beanbag with no beans in it - it's filled with air which means that you can carry it around with you in a teeny bag and when you want to use it, you just whip it out and wave it around in the air to fill it up. Once there's enough air in it then you just need to tie it up and you're good to go.I make it sound really simple when I … [Read more...]

How to make a pretty teacup candle using tea lights….
Here's my cheat's version of a pretty teacup candle using tea lights and my favourite mug! Super easy, super cute and would make a great homemade gift!I love candles and in the past, I've thought about making my own so I could make something individual that would fit in with my home. The problem with making my own is that it involved buying the things I needed to make them and when I added the costs together with the time and effort involved then I figured I was better off sticking to buying the ones that I LOVE from Primark which smell amazing, last for ages and don't break the … [Read more...]
