Today, I've got 8 reasons why buying second-hand clothes is the future for you. :-) I'm not going to lie, I think reason one is enough all on its own but I added the rest in case you still needed a bit of persuasion.I shared a post a couple of weeks ago where I asked the question 'Are charity shops too expensive?' and it got me started on all the reasons why buying second-hand clothes is the way to go. My reasons started to take over the whole post so I dialled it back and copied it over to this post as this topic really does deserve a post of its own.I share a post every … [Read more...]

{Iceland Diaries} A cheaper alternative to the Blue Lagoon…
People often ask me how we can afford to travel as we do and I always say that it's because we shop around for great deals and when we go, we have a strict budget to stick to which means being super clever with what we do when we're on holiday and how we do it. This post is an example of how we use our budget wisely...When most people plan a trip to Iceland, the Blue Lagoon is usually top of their list, and why wouldn't it be. It's one of Iceland's most famous attractions with it's milky-blue water, luxury spa vibes, and Instagram-perfect photos. It was definitely the top of our … [Read more...]
Our Victorian Fireplace Makeover….
Today, you're going to see my favourite makeover so far in our new house - our original Victorian Fireplace. When we moved house at the end of February, I was off work unwell and awaiting an operation so despite having the biggest plans for our new house, I could only manage the smaller jobs which I found so frustrating as you can imagine. The fireplace was my first project and I thoroughly enjoyed taking my time, making it look exactly as I wanted it to look while my poor partner was tasked with the bigger jobs in the room like getting rid of the giant emerald green strip … [Read more...]
Welcome to the Bird Cafe….
We don't have much of a back garden in our new house but what we do have is a lovely front garden that runs the length of the house and ever since we first viewed the house, I've had so many plans for it!Unfortunately, life had other plans for me for the first month or so of us living in the house as I've been either waiting for my operation or recovering from it so I've been very impatiently waiting until I can get out there. 😁One thing I have been able to do is to start setting up our little bird corner which I've been looking forward to setting up since before we had the … [Read more...]
Five Frugal Things we did when we moved house….
We bought a project house. It's live-able but it definitely needs work and we have so many plans to turn it into our home. We plan to do most of the work ourselves gradually so we know we can stick to a tight budget - and it needs to be a tight budget based on the amount of work that we need to do and the plans we have. 😁So, life's going to be very busy for the foreseeable. It's actually been a month since we moved in but I've not been well so haven't really updated you since then which means now that I've had my operation and am starting to feel better, I … [Read more...]
Decluttering my wardrobe before we move house….
Moving house has a funny way of forcing decisions you’ve been quietly avoiding.I've been struggling to close the doors on my wardrobe for a good six months now and if I open a drawer then I always know it's going to be a battle to close it again but I've been ignoring it because sorting through my clothes is a task I most definitely was not looking forward to. It's not that I buy a lot of clothes but when I moved out of my home, I didn't take all of my clothes as I didn't have space for them all. I took what I needed and the rest was stored away in the garage and I bought new (or … [Read more...]
