So, the day's finally arrived. Our school broke up today which means we now have six long weeks of fun ahead of us (with the odd week of work ;-)) and as you'll know if you've seen a few of my recent posts, we're planning to have as much fun as we can - while spending as little as possible! Our Weekend at Thorpe Park….
I'm not sure who was more excited when we were invited to Thorpe Park last weekend - Miss Frugal who heard a rumour that District 3 would be performing, her brother who is suddenly brave enough to go on rides other than the 'baby rides', as he now calls them or their Dad who was dying to go on the biggest rides. We travelled down very early Saturday morning by train (there's a regular shuttle bus to the park from the train station) so we were in the park by lunchtime.... Our week in pictures – an interesting one at last….
You may (or may not) remember the last time I posted my weekly photo round-up a couple of weeks ago, I mentioned that I was very conscious that a lot of the things that we were doing together were indoors and at home. Chocolate Gingerbread Christmas trees….
We didn't get around to make a Gingerbread house this year which is a shame as we loved making last years but we did make something almost as good this morning - Chocolate Gingerbread Christmas trees! Miss Frugal had great fun making the biscuits and kneading the dough and then Master Frugal had even more fun icing them! They smell and taste delicious and would be great hung on the Christmas tree if only I'd remembered to poke little holes in the top before I cooked them. A not very Christmassy ranty post….
Both of my children have beautiful red hair.... They've always loved the colour of their hair and to my knowledge, until this week nothing negative has ever really been said to them about their hair colour. Just the opposite in fact, they often get stopped by people who tell them how lovely it is. We've had a few incidents like this and this - but I don't really think they're the same as they weren't outright nasty comments made to their faces like we've experienced this week.
