I know I've said this before (and I'll probably say it again) but as much as I like cooking from scratch and know that this is the healthiest and often the cheapest way to go, I have no issue with the odd packet mix or jar to help me along the way.If you do have an issue with this then I would recommend you don't continue reading this post. ;-)When I do buy a packet mix or a jar of sauce it's usually one that is on offer at whatever supermarket I'm in and even though the big supermarkets do their own value versions, I'd never tried one until I decided to do a bit of a tried and tested … [Read more...]
#SaveMoneyMonday – Use it Up….
Our house seems to be the home of the equivalent of a toiletries Bermuda Triangle here in our house now that the kids are getting a bit older and taking more of an interest in looking (and smelling) nice!I no sooner unpack a new deodorant or hair gel when it seems to disappear only to found half empty a few weeks later, by which time a replacement has usually been bought. This means that during our pre-Christmas clear out, we found three cans of deodorant, two tubs of hair gel, two lynx shower gels, a tub of chewy vitamins and a can of hairspray - on top of what we thought we … [Read more...]
Fabulously Frugal #4….
Happy New Year!I bet lots of New Years resolutions have been made this week, many of which will involve saving money in one form or another so I'm hoping that there's going to be lots of entries this month.I was a bit sill last month and I didn't set the dates on the linky right so it was only open for a couple of days rather than the full month - I've checked and double checked this month so it should be OK! ;-)I really do want people to see that being frugal and thrifty isn't the same as being tight or stingy and that there are some many easy and fun ways to save money so the … [Read more...]

How to get the best deals on Amazon….
I do a lot of my Christmas shopping online because (a) it's much more enjoyable to shop from your settee than to brave the cold and the masses of stressed out shoppers and (b) it's so much easier to find bargains online than it is in the shops.I love Amazon for shopping online but the one thing that annoys me about Amazon is how much the prices fluctuate from day to day and even from hour to hour. As annoying as this can be though, it does mean that you can get some great deals if you are on the ball. This year, I've discovered a site called CamelCamelCamel which has helped me find … [Read more...]
