I have an odd question for you….
What do you do on a night, after the kids have gone to bed?
Mr Frugal is a bit of a computer geek which means that four or five nights a week, as soon as the kids have gone to bed, he’ll turn on his computer and that’ll be the last I see of him until about ten o clock time. We have one night a week where we snuggle on the settee and catch up on TV and one date night a week where laptops, mobiles, TV and children are banned.
We used to get a babysitter and go out on date night but now that we’re watching the pennies a bit more, we just put the kids to bed early with a DVD and either make a nice meal together or get a takeaway. Sometimes we play together on the XBox (we’ve played the same game since we met – Bomberman) or play cards or a board game together and sometimes we just sit together and chat.
I’m happy with the way we are and after 11 years of marriage I think we’re lucky that we have the relationship that we do but when I was talking to one of my friends at work about it, she said she wouldn’t stand for her husband playing on his computer that much. I know all couples are different but I was a bit surprised by that to be honest – he doesn’t go out, he doesn’t drink or smoke, he doesn’t watch endless sports (only because we don’t have the sports channels lol) and he does more than his fair share round the house, so why shouldn’t he be able to relax in his own way?
So, back to my original question, what do you do on a night, after the kids have gone to bed and would you be OK with your husband spending so much time on his computer?

Great website, excellent details.
Well, in all honesty when I was discussing with my mate concerning this, she had difficulty understanding my view. It stumbled on a place by which I was beginning to feel I’m wrong : ). I realize that we are correct now
Exactly what a nice looking weblog. I discovered very good content and articles here and I am going to subscribe it with RSS reader on my tablet
Aaaaw 'me and Mr Man of my dreams'….. Sounds like your nights are perfect now xx
Excellent!
Thanks
Aww I like this! Sounds like my kind of relationships.. Mr horrible ex face and me used to have nights where he would just play on the xbox where as I would sit on the latop. Now me and mr man of my dreams have the best kind of nights together but this is because he works everynight 8pm to 8am other then on sat & sun nights. Those two nights we have together are very precious and are spent watching dvds, eating yummy food which we've cooked or like you playing on the xbox together! 😀

we sit with 2 laptops and tv on in the background. we talk, or argue, play scrabble, walk the dog or just nothing. I feel that we all need some me time, and men are as much entitled as women, so no I would not have a problem with him doing his own thing. like you we never go out socialising, drinking , smoking or worse, so at 51 and with 5 kids and 2 grandkids I think we doing ok
Same old stuff to be honest. I'm the one normally on the laptop doing blogger stuff and we have the telly on in backround. Sometimes my OH will even stand and iron so i'm not complaining. He works shifts so he's not around every evening which to be honest works for us!! he also isn't out every night drinking, smoking or watching sports although his hobby is climbing which he can be gone all day on his rare day off's, but surely he deserves that right? 🙂
Oooh I wish I could get my OH to stand and iron lol. Sounds like our nights are more normal than I thought x
