For years, I had a rule where I wouldn’t blog about blogging but recently, I relaxed my rule a little bit because I often get questions from you lovely readers asking me how I do things.
One question I’ve been asked a few times recently is how to make money from blogging, specifically how someone who’s just set up a blog can start making money from it. I’m definitely not the best person to advise on this as I’m never very proactive in this area and probably blogged for a good year or so before I even realised you could make money at all.
Even now, I don’t ever pitch to brands and prefer to wait for them to approach me which I know isn’t the way that most people would advise at all, especially as a lot of bloggers these days set their blog up specifically for money making reasons….
That’s why, rather than attempt to answer this one myself, I thought I’d ask my mate Jon from Totally Blogging (although I first ‘met’ him after discovering his Money Shed site) to share his advice as I know it will differ massively from my own and is probably more what new bloggers want to hear than my own ‘sit back and wait’ approach.
Over to you Jon…
If you’re interested in blogging and want to make a bit of money doing it then you’re in luck. There has never been a better time to start blogging. It is an incredibly popular platform on the internet and more and more people are starting their own blogs.
