Opening a bank account for my 16-year-old was so easy that it took me longer to find his passport than it did to do the application! This afternoon, I helped Master Frugal open his own bank account with Monzo and it was so easy that I thought I'd share it with you because it was so much easier than I expected! (BTW - I'm not working with Monzo at all, I'll explain below why we picked Monzo over the other options 😂 ) The first reason we chose Monzo was that they advertise an 'easy' online account opening process which was a big sell to me after the nightmare we had trying … [Read more...]
Easy Baked Oats Recipe…
Today, I'm going to share Miss Frugal's easy baked oats recipe because so many of you messaged me over on Instagram when I shared a photo of it earlier this week. This easy baked oats recipe makes a brilliant meal prep breakfast as you can cook it the night before but it's also great for lunch or a snack too as we discovered this week. Miss Frugal decided to make me a bit of a healthy snack when I was working one afternoon (she's a star encouraging me as I'm trying to be healthier) and it was so nice that me and both of the kids just grabbed a spoon and ate some from the bowl … [Read more...]
Facebook MADE me buy it {Part 3}….
Did you see my last 'Facebook MADE me buy it' post? Basically, I realised a little while ago that I'm like an advertisers dream right now as I've bought things recently that I may not have even known existed if it hadn't been for Facebook and its advertising algorithms that somehow know what I want before I even know myself. (To be clear: none of these items are sponsored or gifted, they're all things that have genuinely appeared in my Newsfeed - usually numerous times before I give in!) Before I start telling you what I have bought, let me tell you what I haven't bought that I … [Read more...]
Where to cash in coins for free….
Today's post is all about the places you can cash in coins for free but before I do. that, let me tell you what inspired my post. 😂 I was in my little Asda yesterday looking for Easter Eggs (which is a whole other story but the moral to that one is don't presume your 18-year-old won't want an Easter Egg just because she's 18) when I heard raised voices at the front of the shop. I have no clue what was going on but I did hear an angry man saying that he was going to come back and pay for his shopping using the contents of his copper jar. The lovely man in the shop handled him … [Read more...]
7 Simple daily habits that changed my life…
I want to tell you about some daily habits that changed my life for one reason or another although some of them might not be what you were expecting from me. I know the title sounds all zen and you might expect some deep and meaningful daily habits to be included in my list but tit's much more practical than that. These are simple daily habits that I've done to make me a happier person and I think they'll work for most people. You might notice as you read down the list that all of my daily habits are based around either the morning or bedtime which is deliberate because they're all about … [Read more...]
Why I’m not having Laser Eye Surgery….
I've just got back from an appointment to find out if laser eye surgery would work for me so I thought I'd tell you all about it. Spoiler Alert: I'm not a happy bunny right now! 🐰 About six months ago I had an eye test because I was aware that my long-distance vision wasn't as good as it used to be and I wasn't surprised to find out that I needed glasses to put that right. I don't have to wear them often but I've always had such good vision that it frustrates me a little even to need them a little bit. (Irrational, I know) I started to do some research into … [Read more...]
