It's no secret that I'm easily distracted so it probably won't come as too much of a surprise that I often very occasionally burn the tea which leaves me with a burnt pan to clean.The fact that my husband refuses to wash my burnt pans (he does all the rest of the pots usually) because I should have been more careful means that I 've become a bit of a 'how to clean a burnt pan' expert! Small things that make me smile {March 2016}….
This month hasn't been the best month for us and to be quite honest, there's been a couple of times when I just wanted to curl up in a ball and cry. Master Frugal didn't get into his first choice school even though his sister goes there already which turns out to be an error as they didn't take that into account due to missing paperwork but even knowing that, the school is so over subscribed that I have to appeal to see if he can have a place! It's been a good while since I've shared my meal plan with you all hasn't it?We've not been doing too badly with our meal planning lately but I know there's a lot more we could be doing to be even better - and by better, I mean saving more time as well as more money by being more organised.Our new freezer was delivered yesterday so I'm hoping that I'm going to be able to fill that with batch cooking delights and that one big batch cooking session every now and again will be enough to keep us fully stocked. My Super sneaky sleepover tip to get younger kids settled earlier….
Miss Frugal has always loved a good sleepover with her friends and over the years we've had a lot of them!Sleepovers are very different to what they used to be now that she's 13 (and a half ;-)) because the kids are sensible enough to know that whatever they're doing, they need to do it quietly because Miss Frugal understands now that if they're not quiet, then I will hear them and next time she asks for a sleepover, I'll say no!It's much easier for a teenager to understand the need to be quiet but it's not so easy to expect younger children to simply go to bed when they're told and … [Read more...]
Five Frugal things I’ve done this week {18th March 2016}….
1) Miss Frugal decided that she was suddenly too old for her beautiful pink and turquoise bedroom and that she wanted to go for an all white look instead. I did have a fair amount of white paint leftover from when we did our hall, stairs and landing so I told her I'd help her if she did most of the work and surprisingly, she agreed!
