Instagram is my absolute favourite social media platform (as long as we're not counting Pinterest :-)) and it's definitely my favourite way to waste spend the odd few minutes throughout the day when I have some spare time!I love the little glimpses it gives me into what's going on in other people's lives and sharing little snapshots of what's happening in my own life but lately, with the new crazy algorithm I've not been enjoying it as much.I'll open up the app and instead of seeing recent posts, I'll see ones from the day before because Instagram thinks I'll like them better! I see … [Read more...]
Homemade Fakeaway Chipotle….
When Miss Frugal and I visited New York in April we were on a bit of a budget when it came to food - mainly because the less we spent on food, the more we could spend on shopping! So although there were thousands of places we could have eaten, we decided before we left that we weren't going to eat in a lot of the more expensive places that people said we really 'had to try' and to eat cheaply where we could with just a few stand out treats. The first night we got there it was pouring down so we ate at Pret and had delicious tomato and feta soup with chicken and avocado sandwiches which … [Read more...]
Five Amazing Free Daily Planner Printables….
Five Amazing Free Daily Planner Printables to help keep you (and me) organised!June was a super busy month for us here and if I'm honest I really struggled to keep on top of everything that I wanted to do which means I ended the month feeling a little bit like I'd failed. My problem isn't necessarily that I have too much to do (although a couple of extra hours in the day would come in handy), it's more that I've not been great with my time management recently and I feel like I often put things off until later, which as we all know is not a great way to get things done!July is … [Read more...]
How to make money from entering competitions and completing surveys….
It's Saturday morning which means it's time for the next post in my 'How to Make Money' series. This week's post is a bit of a two in one for you as it's about how one blogger has learned to make money by entering competitions and by completing surveys. I've asked the lovely Katy from Katy Kicker to share her experiences with us all today as I know that she has much more knowledge to share with you on this than I do. ;-)Back in 2013 I was working a job that I couldn’t stand. My manager was rude, my life was a bit miserable and I had finally had enough. I was already dabbling a little … [Read more...]
Five Frugal Things I’ve done this week {30th June 2017}….
1) Despite the heat, I'm still loving soup for my lunch and I've had it three times this week. ;-) I bought a pack of pre-chopped soup mix from Asda in their reduced fruit and veg section so it worked out at around 15p a portion.Even at full price these pre-prepared soup packs work out as good value although it is a little waterier (is that a word) than my version of spicy butternut squash and sweet potato soup but actually I do quite like it that way.2) We went to the car boot sale last weekend and managed to get Tri-ominoes for the bargain price of 50p as our old and battered … [Read more...]
What to expect when you’re travelling with two teenagers….
I love travelling and discovering new places with my little family but one thing I learned after our recent trip to Milan is that our holidays now need to planned slightly differently to when the kids were younger. With Miss Frugal now at the grand old age of 14 and her brother slightly younger at 12, we've been through the years where they got along like a house on fire and actually enjoyed each other's company and the (thankfully) short phase where they hated the sight of each other. We're now in the much more comfortable phase where they manage to tolerate each other for the most part … [Read more...]
