I switched energy providers last year and saved a fortune!
There was none of the issues I’d been dreading and everything went smoothly so I spend the next few months telling everyone that I was on a great deal and that they should all be doing their research and making sure that they switched to better deals to save as much money as I was saving.
It was only because I was so busy telling everyone that they should switch that someone pointed out to me a couple of months after my switch that they had indeed taken my advice and switched but that they were pretty sure that their deal was better than mine. They pointed out that really, if I wanted to be sure that I was on the cheapest deal then I should be looking at switching again.
As smooth as our switching experience had been, I really didn’t fancy doing it all again so don’t tell anyone but I didn’t bother. I’m still on a great rate which is cheaper than I was paying but I now know that there are slightly better deals on the market. I should change and I will change at some point – possibly sooner rather than later now that I’ve discovered Switchcraft.
Switchcraft is a energy supplier switching site who are a bit different to the sites like USwitch because after the first switch, they’ll actually switch you automatically if they find a better deal for you. This means that you don’t have to worry about automatically being switched to a higher tariff when your special offer ‘new customer’ deal ends and you don’t have to always be checking for better deals as they’ll do the work for you.
My first thought was that I don’t want to be switching every month just to save a few pennies but their website has reassured me that they understand that this isn’t something that I’d want to do. Often you just need to change once a year to make sure you’re on a great deal but sometimes, they might change you more often but the good thing is that you’ll get an email notifying you before each switch so you have plenty of chance to consider your options and opt out if you want to.
The average annual savings that Switchcraft customers are making is £506 which is not to be sniffed at especially considering it’s a completely free service. They’ll do all the hard work for you by monitoring the deals out there and then if they find a great deal, they’ll do all the switching for you. You get to just sit back and let them do all the work, safe in the knowledge that they’re going to make sure that you’re on the best deal out there!
That’s a win, win situation!
It could even be a win, win, win situation as Switchcraft would like to give one of you lucky people the super cute little Amazon Dot. All you need to do to enter is head over to the Switchcraft site. You just need to sign up to their mailing list and you’ll be entered into the competition to win the Amazon Dot. The competition is live until midnight on the 22nd June and you’ll be notified on the 23rd June if you’ve won. As it’s a UK based service, the competition is only open to UK entrants.
Do let me know in the comments if you’ve entered. 😉
**Please note that this competition is being ran by Switchcraft so if you have any queries then you will need to contact them directly. **
