I’m a huge advocate of cash back apps – why would you not not want to earn money for doing nothing other than your usual shopping. I’ve used them for years and admittedly, you won’t make a fortune, but you will earn a cheeky bit of easy money!

Basically, cashback apps work quietly in the background, giving you money back on purchases you were already going to make which makes them perfect for busy parents who don’t have the time to cut out coupons or hunt for deals every day or people like me who like the reward without the effort.
Here are some of the best cashback apps that can really make a difference to family finances:
1. TopCashback
One of the UK’s most popular cashback sites, TopCashback works with thousands of retailers – from supermarkets to insurance providers. Simply click through the app before making a purchase online and earn a percentage back. For busy parents, it’s a great way to save on things you’d be buying anyway, like school shoes, kids’ clothes, or even your family holiday. I have the app and the browser extension for this so it actually pops up on the checkout page of any sites if the company are on TopCashBack making it ridiculously easy to earn money!
Best for: Online shopping, insurance, and travel deals.

2. Quidco
Quidco is another big name in cashback. Like TopCashback, it partners with major retailers and service providers. The app is easy to use and regularly offers boosted rates. Parents can save on everything from weekly food shops to broadband deals. It’s not as good as TopCashBack if you ask me but lots of people do prefer it so it’s worth a look.
Best for: Everyday shopping and household bills.
3. Shopmium
Perfect for parents who want to save money at the supermarket. Shopmium gives you cashback on specific products – simply buy the item in store, snap a photo of your receipt, and get your money back. Often, the products are snacks, cleaning products, or essentials, which makes it easy to fit into your normal shop.
Best for: Groceries and household essentials.
Download the app from your app store to start shopping.
4. Airtime Rewards
I talk about this all of the time about Airtime Rewards!
If your mobile phone bill seems to creep up every month, this app is a lifesaver. Airtime Rewards links to your bank card and automatically tracks cashback offers when you spend either online or in a shop using any of your registered cards. The money you earn goes straight towards paying your mobile bill, cutting your monthly costs without you lifting a finger.
Best for: Effortless savings on mobile bills.

5. GreenJinn
This app focuses on healthy eating and often features cashback deals on fresh produce, snacks, and store cupboard staples. Just like Shopmium, you scan your receipt and claim back money. It’s a handy option if you want to save on the healthier items that often cost more. I actually don’t use this one but I’ve seen a few people on Instagram sharing some success stories of side hustles and this is starting to show up more and more so I wanted to include it.
Best for: Families trying to eat well on a budget.
6. KidStart
This is another one that I don’t use but again, one that I’ve heard good things about. Basically, if you’re saving for your child’s future, KidStart is the app for you. When you shop through the app at selected retailers, cashback goes straight into your child’s savings account. It’s a clever way to top up their savings without having to think about it.
Best for: Building children’s savings as you shop.
Tips to Get the Most Out of Cashback Apps
Stack offers: Use cashback apps alongside supermarket loyalty cards or discount codes for maximum savings.
Stay organised: Set reminders to upload receipts quickly so you don’t miss out.
Don’t overspend: Stick to buying what you need – treat cashback as a bonus, not an excuse to shop more.
- Make it as easy as possible: Download the browser extensions and the apps so effort is minimal when you spend.
