OK, so I’m going to get it out of the way right at the start and tell you that this isn’t a review that I’ve been asked to write. 😉  I wanted to write this post because I used to constantly worry about my two getting sunburnt and this is the only product that I’ve found that actually works!
Before we had children, we used to go on at least two holidays a year and when they came along, we tried our best not to give up our holidays and would save money each month to pay for our annual family trip which we looked forward to all year.
But it all changed when the kids were old enough to want to be running around in the sun and playing in the pool all day. Â It changed because a holiday was no longer the relaxing break that it used to be – it couldn’t be when I was constantly stalking the kids to top up their sun tan lotion which they hated almost as much as me.
I’m not exaggerating either, these two are so fair skinned that they’ve caught the sun on an Autumn day after being outside for less than half an hour. Â It’s ridiculous! Â So imagine how quick they burn on holiday in the sun, even with factor 50+ they still burn if it’s not reapplied often through the day which means I’m constantly counting down to the next time it’s due on.

After a holiday where Master Frugal still got sunburn despite my best efforts, we sat down and decided that it just wasn’t worth it and we decided to stop going abroad until the kids were old enough to co-operate a little better. 😉
We’ve travelled lots in this country instead over the past few years and we’ve had a great time, especially after we started using P20 sun protection which was recommended to us by a friend.

P20 comes in a variety of levels of protection but I’ve never used anything less than the factor 50 version and I’ll also be honest and say that even though it’s billed as a ‘Once a Day’ protection that will protect for up to ten hours, I’ve never left it more than four before reapplying. Â I just can’t bring myself to fully test out how long it will last for.
It has made a huge difference though as even on the hottest of days in the UK, I can apply once in the morning and again after lunch and that’s the kids sorted for the day. Â It goes on really easily too which means that you don’t get that yucky feeling after you’ve applied it so Master Frugal us now a lot more amenable to applying it – in the past he’d do anything he could to avoid it so it was always a battle.
It’s water resistant too and starts working in just 15 minutes so as far as I’m concerned, it’s a little miracle in a bottle and although it certainly isn’t the cheapest on the market, I won’t scrimp where health is concerned so I’d pay for this whatever price it was!
It’s made that much of a difference that we decided to have a cheeky little holiday in April and Miss Frugal and I spend four days in Cyprus where the temperatures reached 29 c on some days. Â I’m proud to say that she came home looking exactly the same as she did when we left (with the addition of a few more freckles).

The cheapest place I’ve found it today is Amazon (that’s my affiliate link) but I bought mine this year on offer before the Summer from Boots and last year I bought it half price from Morrisons.
I highly recommend investing in some of this wonder stuff. 😉

I am not familiar with this brand but it sounds great if you can apply once and it last so long (although I would be like you and not test it to the full length of time!) x
We use this brand too! My children are both blonde and blue eyed so would burn so easily otherwise x
I love P20 – it is brilliant stuff and none of us burned last year using it
Sounds great. We will have to give it a try x
I use P20 and it's great for Leo's sensitive skin!
As you know, I've got my own little redhead as well as a blondie and they are both ridiculously fair skinned! I stick to one particular brand of sunscreen too and it's always been great for us, although we haven't been abroad, so I would definitely use P20 if we had the opportunity to go away as the extra peace of mind (and your recommendation) would really make a holiday more enjoyable.
I am such a suncream nut and am always looking for something great that lasts ages and is easy to apply. We are about out so I may have to invest in some of this. You know just in case the sun ever makes an appearance again 😉
We use P20 too, but I have developed a reaction to it, so am looking for a new one for me. It is ace for the kids
Waterproof is a must for me when I'm buying for the kids as they are always in and out of water all holiday! I've not tried P20 before but I'd give it a go on your recommendation.
Sounds grest – my hubbie uses this and loves it so we will have to give it a go. Definitely need the factor 50 here too though! x
If only we had some sunshine to go with it! You actually made me feel quite glum because we used to live in Cyprus with access to beaches like that just down the road… good times!
