Blogging with a full time job is easier than you might think!Today's a bit of a different kind of post for me - it's all about how I manage to have a great work, life, blog balance!I've been asked a couple of times lately how I manage to balance a full-time job, a happy home life and blogging so I thought I'd share a little bit about my life and tell you how I do it. First, a bit of background. One of the reasons I started this blog was to document our journey into living a more frugal lifestyle - something that we needed to do as I wanted to have the flexibility of working less … [Read more...]

Five of my Favourite Super Cute Unicorn Crafts….
Today's post is a bit of a round up of some of my favourite Unicorn crafts!I *may* have a thing about unicorns. I also may have a thing (that I only noticed when I was putting this post together) where I have to include the words 'Super Cute' in the title of pretty much every post about unicorns. To be honest, it's not really unicorns that I have a thing about, it's more the fact that you can go a bit mad with the pretty colours when you're making unicorn crafts and DIYs. I have a plan for a few more, including a unicorn sugar scrub and a unicorn smoothie but … [Read more...]
Homemade Zesty Coconut and Lime Soap….
Remember my zesty coconut and lime sugar scrub? I loved that combination so much that I've got a matching zesty coconut and lime soap to share with you today! We've totally streamlined the toiletries and lots of the things we no longer use have been replaced by homemade products (not all but some :-)) and soaps are one of these things.Since I discovered how easy it was to make my own soap I've made a couple of different versions - honey and oatmeal and coconut scrub soaps have been my favourite so far but actually, I think this one has beaten them both! Thrifty but Cute Mason Jar Gifts for everyone….
Homemade gifts can not only save you money but they can also show the person you give them to just how much you've thought about the gift you're giving them. I've got lots of ideas for homemade gifts this Christmas but today, we're starting with some ideas for mason jar gifts.Mason Jars are traditionally used for preserving and canning food but I use them for all sorts in my house. In my kitchen alone I've used the smaller sized jars to store my homemade applesauce in and I have lots of them in my cupboard filled with everything from flour to porridge oats and I even have one filled … [Read more...]
Five Frugal Things I’ve done this week {17 March 2017}….
1) There's not long until Miss Frugal and I head off to New York and the other day I was having a quick double check of our flight times and I noticed that there was an option to register an British Airways Executive Club card to collect some Avios points on our booking. I'd noticed this before but didn't do anything as we're not exactly frequent flyers but I just thought I'd have a look into it to see if the points were actually worth anything to us. Surprisingly, it totally was worth registering as the points we earned from our booking can be spent on-board with BA for food and drinks so … [Read more...]
