Welcome to this week's Wednesday's Wardrobe! In case you don't know, Wednesday’s Wardrobe is a weekly linky that I'll be co-hosting along with two fantastic bloggers, Emma and Sarah.I broke one of my own rules this weekend - I bought some clothes for Miss Frugal without consulting her first. ;-)In my defence, we were at the car boot sale and the lady on the stall we were looking at decided that she was going to reduce everything to 20p. When she started shouting that everything was reduced to 20p I looked at the rail of clothes I was sorting through filled with clothes from shops … [Read more...]

Secret Santa on a budget – 10 presents for under a fiver….
I love a good Secret Santa with my friends at work but we generally opt for a lower budget because, let's face it, Christmas is expensive enough as it is.We've had a year where we set the budget at £1 per person with the idea being that you had to get the most creative gift that you could for that amount. We got all sorts of gifts from candles to cactus plants dressed up as Santa and it was much more fun than opening the inevitable chocolates, biscuits and alcohol that we would have no doubt seen if we'd had a higher budget. This year, we're going for a slightly higher budget of £5.00 … [Read more...]
Magpie Monday – More Bargains….
The first bargain I want to share this week is the outfit I bought for Miss Frugal's first grown up disco the week before last. She was so excited about this disco as it's the first one since she went up to the Juniors and even though she'd been talking about it for weeks beforehand, it wasn't until the night before that she decided that she wanted a new outfit to wear.I told her she didn't need new clothes as she had plenty in her wardrobe and marched her upstairs to prove my point but her bedroom looked like a jumble sale - she'd already tried almost everything in her wardrobe … [Read more...]
8 reasons why buying second-hand clothes is the future..
Today, I've got 8 reasons why buying second-hand clothes is the future for you. :-) I'm not going to lie, I think reason one is enough all on its own but I added the rest in case you still needed a bit of persuasion.I shared a post a couple of weeks ago where I asked the question 'Are charity shops too expensive?' and it got me started on all the reasons why buying second-hand clothes is the way to go. My reasons started to take over the whole post so I dialled it back and copied it over to this post as this topic really does deserve a post of its own.I share a post every … [Read more...]
Five little things that have saved us money this week {19th June 2026}….
Every week I share five small things we’ve done to save a bit of money, make life easier or help us spend more intentionally. None of them are usually huge on their own, but that’s kind of the point. Those small choices add up over time and give us more room for the things that really matter — whether that’s days out, holidays, home projects, treats we’ll actually enjoy or just a bit more breathing space in the budget.Hey! 1) This first one is a bit of an obvious one, but I'm sharing it anyway because it felt like quite a grown-up thing to do. 😁I didn't buy … [Read more...]
Why I still think camping in the UK is one of the best family holidays….
I was scrolling through some old photos the other day and came across pictures from one of our camping trips to Ullswater when the kids were younger. Looking at them made me realise just how many of my favourite family memories involve a tent, a camping stove and at least one day where it rained much more than we'd hoped. 😀Don't get me wrong, we've had some amazing holidays abroad over the years and I wouldn't swap those memories for anything. Some years, camping was our main family holiday because it fitted our budget better at the time and other years it gave us the chance to … [Read more...]
