Every week I tell you about five frugal things I've done to save some money and whilst some things might not be as frugal as others, everything I share is something that I think is frugal or thrifty for one reason or another. But I wanted to do something a bit different this week, I wanted to share some things I've done that aren't very frugal at all - not because I haven't done anything frugal but because I don't want you to think that I'm some sort of frugal wonder-woman who excels in all areas of frugal-ness (is that even a word).1. I bought a packet of Lemsips - … [Read more...]

Five ways a VPN can make YOUR family life easier….
I’ll be honest, for a long time I thought VPNs were one of those things that only people who work in IT or wear headsets for a living needed. It sounded complicated, a bit intimidating, and definitely not aimed at normal family life. But it turns out, I was wrong. A VPN is actually one of those quiet, behind-the-scenes things that just makes being online a bit easier and a bit safer, especially when you’ve got kids, multiple devices and everyone doing different things at the same time. I have used VPN mobile for years now and have only ever used a company called Surfshark but … [Read more...]

Six things you can do to help your house sell faster….
There's no getting away from the fact that selling your house is stressful! You feel like your life is in limbo (or at least I did) because you don't know what's happening and when. I hated the waiting game - waiting for someone to decide they liked our house enough to buy it whilst desperately hoping that the house we wanted didn't sell in the meantime, waiting for our offer to be accepted on the house we wanted and now, waiting for it all to go through and be finalised. I wanted to do everything I could to speed up the sale of our home and I honestly think that the things I … [Read more...]
Family Meals for under a fiver – Macaroni Cheese….
In last week's five frugal things post, I shared one of our favourite family meals and how it cost around £5 to cook enough minced beef and onions for four large portions which is more than enough to feed a family. Macaroni cheese has always been a family favourite meal for us and at one point, I pretty much cooked it weekly as every time I wrote a meal plan, the kids asked me to make sure that this was on there. I cooked it because everyone enjoyed it but I loved that it was a quick and easy, budget meal that made me look like a great cook as every plate was empty at the … [Read more...]
