I've not been around much in the last week or so, mainly because last week was the half term holidays for us and we were busy, busy, busy with hardly any time to sit still for five minutes let alone actually take time to blog! Now that the kids are back at school for their last half term before the Summer Holidays, I'm starting to plan for what we're going to do when they're off which inevitably makes me wonder how we're going to pay for what we'll be doing. Don't get me wrong, we'll be doing lots of cheap and free things but when a trip to the cinema can cost £30 upwards and a day out at … [Read more...]

Cooking with Kids – Pizza Calzones….
We love home made pizza but last week we decided to make a variation of this by making mini pizza calzones together. It was part of an extra effort to get Master Frugal eating new things as he's seemed quite receptive to new food lately and after years of being a fussy eater, he's starting to get a bit braver. I though calzones would be a good way to help encourage him as he can't see what he's eating so he doesn't get chance to fuss over it if you know what I mean.We each made a portion of out own homemade pizza dough which is basically 125g bread flour, 7g yeast packet and 75ml … [Read more...]

#EmbraceHappy – Me, Me, Me….
When I heard about the lovely Karin's idea of #EmbraceHappy I signed up straight away as it sounded like a great idea - finding happiness every day! Then I got busy and didn't really have the chance to join in as much as I'd like to but last weekend, I realised that I really do want to join in more because I think I need it. It's April already and between work, school and various bugs that we've all been suffering with, I don't feel like I've achieved very much this year and I certainly don't feel like I've had too much time to do the things that I want to do.So, April is … [Read more...]
Thrifty Thursday – The Spring Cleaning Edition….
Spring is definitely in the air.Which is great, obviously.Except for the fact that the sunshine outside always seems to highlight the fact that my house is due it's annual spring clean and de-clutter.
