I’ve just made a small batch of this amazing rose petal and vanilla sugar scrub using some rose petals that I got for 50p in the reduced section at Tesco and it reminded me how lovely it was to use so I thought I’d share it again with you all.

One of my friends gave me some lovely dried rose petals a little while ago when I was planning to make some pretty candles as Christmas gifts. I never got around to making the candles so the rose petals have just been sat in my cupboard gathering dust until Miss Frugal came across them the other day.
Naturally, the first thing she thought of when she saw them was that they would make an ‘amazing sugar scrub’ so she decided to make one as a treat for us both.
Romantic Rose Petal and Vanilla Sugar Scrub….

1 cup white sugar
1/2 to 3/4 cup melted coconut oil
3 tablespoons dried rose petals
1 capful vanilla essence or 15 drops vanilla essential oil (more or less is good depending on how sweet you want it)
- Mix the sugar and the dried rose petals together gently.
- Add the vanilla and pour in the oil bit by bit, stirring the sugar mix together gently every time you add some oil.

- Keep adding the oil until you get the consistency you want – the less oil you add the more textured your scrub will be.
- Pop into your container and you’re ready to go.

Honestly, it’s amazing!
FYI – If you’re using essential oils then I’d recommend a read of this post just to make sure you’re using them safely.

Looked up how to dry rose petals in the microwave as I had some from a bargain bunch. Dried them, and then found your rose and vanilla scrub, for which I had all the ingredients. As I don't like vanilla much, I added a small amount and 2 drops lavender essential oil. Looks and smells good, and potted up in two small jars- one for me to try and one as a gift. All within half an hour! Many thanks.
Oooh this sounds fab, I've never thought to make my own I just buy it. I've got a full jar of coconut oil I haven't even opened yet so I might have to give it a go
This sounds really interesting. I keep meaning to buy some coconut oil.
Gosh I've never thought to make anything like this. It looks so pretty
This looks lovely to use, and I bet smells gorgeous. Something I am definitely going to try, thankyou 🙂
What a lovely gift! I bet it smells divine! Xx
