To try out the aprons that we made yesterday we just made some yummy golden syrup biscuits. When I say we, I mean me, Miss Frugal and Baby Isabella (the doll!) so you can imagine how long it took us.
Miss Frugal is soooo cute when she’s pretending to be a mommy, she made sure that baby Isabella got to have go at everything and kept saying well done to her when she did something…. Aaaaaw.
The recipe itself is super easy, all you need is:
25 g (1 oz) butter or margarine
2 1/2 tablespoons golden syrup
1/2 teaspoon Bicarbonate of soda
1/4 teaspoon vanilla essence
100g (4 oz) self raising flour
1. Melt the butter in a pan with the golden syrup.
2. Mix in the bicarb and vanilla essence.
3. Fold in the flour and make a squidgy dough.
4. Roll out the dough and then use cookie cutter to make your biscuit shapes.

Then cook for about 10 – 12 minutes at about 160 c.

We cooked ours for a bit too long but they still taste yummy.

awesome!!!
Thanks Frugal Life, I couldn't agree more about not needing much money to keep kids happy. Time and love are more important to children than any amount of money…. Unless its money spent on Disneyland obvioulsy lol
I'm sure one wont have too many syns in it Justine…. Just a little nibble maybe 😉
Fantastic, it's lovely seeing your kids learning to cook and having so much fun whilst they are doing it. Parents don't need money to amuse children, just a little time and you use that so well. cc
They look yum I will try them out. Mind you I am nearly at target – slimming world so might wait until them or make them for someone else.
