I am so embarassed, I have just been to Asda with Master Frugal and he has just shouted at the top of his voice across the shop'Mam, will you hold my nuts while I have a wee?'I must just explain at this point that I had given his some pistachio nuts in the car and he didn't want to take them in to the toilet.... however, the shop full of people sniggering at me didn't know that, did they? One for the memory books I think. … [Read more...]
The Worlds Fussiest Eater….
Do I have the fussiest four year old in the world? I think so....He is such a fussy eater and has to be coaxed to eat anything different, which is why I tend to stick to the same meals on my meal plans. When I find something he likes, I stick with it until we all get sick of it.It's only in the last six months or so that he has started to be even slightly more adventurous. The Christmas before last he would only eat plain pasta (still his favourite food). He doesn't eat fish or meat, apart from sausages, and his dinner is usually ours minus any fish, meat or sauces. We try all sorts of things … [Read more...]
Jammy Buns….
Miss Frugal has just made Jammy Buns for us all. I've made them with her a couple of times before (see here) but today she decided that she was now grown up enough to make them on her own. She put her little pinny on and managed to weigh out the ingredients all by herself (good job there's not many lol) so she's feeling quite proud of herself. Her three cousins have just been round and she made them all sit at the table to try one - She would have been gutted if they hadn't liked them! I know they don't look much but they taste gorgeous. … [Read more...]
A Frugal Fondue….
I found a huge bar of chocolate in the cupboard on Friday night and I was sooooo tempted to eat it - which wouldn't have helped my diet in any way! After sitting and staring at it (whilst drooling) for a while wondering if a big bar of dairy milk was worth breaking my diet over, I decided to melt it down and make a frugal family style fondue. I didn't do anything fancy, I just melted the chocolate in the microwave and chopped up some fruit. Arm the kids with a fork each and you have two happy little people.Funnily enough we went shopping yesterday and saw a Cadbury's chocolate fondue set for … [Read more...]
Meal Planning – the Slimming World Way
This week's meal plan is going to be be a bit of a nightmare. I have to plan for a fussy eating 4 year old, a can't cook, won't cook other half and on top of that, I need to make sure that it's Slimming World friendly!I think until I have got the hang of being back on Slimming World I'm going to eat simple things that I'm familiar with rather than try anything elaborate or time consuming, more for the fact that I will be cooking separate meals for me initially. Once I've got my head round it I will introduce it more to the rest of the family and gradually try to adapt our family favourites to … [Read more...]
How to be an Organised Mum….
To the 6 people who have found this blog after searching for a 'diary in the shape of a tree' - Sorry, I have no clue why ended up here either! However, if you've found me by searching for the term 'organised mum' then this post may be the one for you.
