When we went to New York in April, Miss Frugal and I went to see a basketball game at the iconic Madison Square Gardens between the New York Knicks and the Washington Wizards which was an AMAZING experience!
Our little trip to Madison Square Gardens was probably the only thing we did when we were in New York that Mr Frugal felt he missed out on as he’s been a bit of a closet basketball fan since Miss Frugal was a baby.
We were super lucky with her as she slept through from a couple of days old but after about two or three weeks she started suffering with colic which always seemed to be worse at night just after her last feed. By this time, I was exhausted so lovely Mr Frugal used to stay up with her until she settled which took a good few hours at first until we learned to manage it better.
Are you wondering what the link between basketball and colic is yet? I’m just getting to that bit….
Our health visitor wasn’t all that great when it came to advice so, as first time parents, we didn’t cope very well at all with it and I remember getting very stressed about it and having a good old cry myself. At that point Mr Mr Frugal stepped in and
While he was snuggling baby Miss Frugal, he used to sit with her and watch a US show that I think was on Channel five at that time of night. The show featured highlights from basketball matches in the US and he found that he really enjoyed watching. 😉
Luckily, Miss Frugal’s colic didn’t last for too long as we discovered some drops that we put in her milk which really seemed to work. They didn’t stop the colic completely but they eased it enough that a gentle tummy rub was more often than not enough to settle here back off to sleep. The relief was amazing because, as any parent will know it’s awful seeing your baby in pain when you can’t help them.
I can’t remember the name of the drops we found back then but we used to call them miracle juice. 😉
And the reason I’m telling you all of this today is because I had an email from a company who make something very similar asking me to tell you about Care Co-Lactase Infant Drops. I would usually say no to requests like this because it isn’t a product that I’ve tried so I’m not able to personally vouch for seeing as my children are way past the colic age but when I mentioned it to Mr Frugal he made a very important point.
He said that we would have tried anything to stop Miss Frugal from suffering and the day someone recommended our miracle juice to us was a turning point for Miss Frugal and her colic. So, I did a little research and the drops sound exactly like the ones we used way back then so I thought I’d tell you about them in case they can be your miracle juice.
Did your children suffer from colic?
