Before I start, I know that anyone American will probably be horrified that I’m comparing these yummy delights to an actual S’more but in my defence, my children are always asking me if they can try a S’more and this is the closest I’ve managed. 😉

For those of you who aren’t sure exactly what a S’more is,  it’s a traditional night time campfire treat popular in the USA, consisting of a roasted marshmallow and a layer of chocolate sandwiched between two pieces of graham cracker.
As I am sadly lacking a campfire and can’t find anything that even slightly resembles what a graham cracker seems to be, I’ve had to come up with my own version of an oven baked s’more which is much more British as it’s cooked in the oven and involves the humble digestive biscuit. Â I even cheated some more and used chocolate digestive biscuits so I didn’t have to mess about with squares of chocolate!
All I did was place a digestive biscuit on an oven proof dish (chocolate side up), pop a marshmallow on top and then top it with another digestive biscuit (this time chocolate side down). Â I baked it for about 5 – 10 minutes at around 200 c until the marshmallow was just turning golden and voila, an oven baked, kind of S’more. Â The time I baked it for is very vague as it varied quite a bit each time I put a new batch in – no idea why!

And even though I’ve never tried an actual S’more, I like to think that my own homemade oven baked S’mores are just as yummy!

We once had an American intern who introduced me to the joys of s'mores – and snickerdoodles too! I like the idea of a UK-friendly version of these delicious treats.
I had wondered what s'mores were. Your version looks just delicious.
we make smore's whenever we have friends round for a fire in the garden, and sometimes over our open fire indoors 🙂
When I was a brownie leader we used to make these with the brownies but we would ‘roast’ the marshmallows on skewers over tea lights before placing them on chocolate digestives. Lots of fun and very yummy! Will try your way of doing them with my niece though as not sure I trust her with tea lights!
I love smores…we get vegetarian marshmallows and as they're more expensive we don't get them that often so it's a real treat when we do. My daughter would love these (as would I!!)
I love smores and never though about doing them in the oven
I've never had them either, but these look great and worth a try.
Yum they look so delicious – just perfect with hot chocolate too 🙂

We are off to yours for smore now. See in shortly!
Ooooh I do love S'mores but have never attempted my own x
We made smores using chocolate digestives when we had the bbq out in the summer. We all loved them!
Wow, I'm going to have to go to Tesco and see if I can find some Graham Crackers as I miss them!
Anyway that's exactly how I would make s'mores now I live in England instead of Canada! They only thing I might do different is try the roast the marshmallows over the bbq or over the gas hob (shhhh don't tell hubby!)
What a brilliant idea. I think we may have to try this….and very soon. You can't go wrong with biscuits and marshmallows…..
my local Tesco has a small ‘American’ section, probably in the world foods aisle. It has proper graham crackers in it…I go there to look at the items when I’m feeling homesick:-)
