So it’s Goodbye 2010 and Hello 2011. We’ve had lots of fun together this year and I was considering doing a round up of the year for you but then I decided it would be slightly less boring for you if I just shared some of my favourite photo’s from the year with you, so here you go….
The year seems to have gone really fast and I must admit that I’m ending the year in a much happier place than when it started – I just feel more positive about everything and I’m looking forward to next year. I even have my resolutions planned out and duly written up in my brand new notbook.
I love the way that even just making a New Years Resolution makes you feel that you’re doing something positive to make something in your life better. I’ve spent ages this week thinking of the areas of my life that I wanted to improve (I’m not as geeky as I sound though, I just couldn’t get to sleep last night!) so that I could decide what my resolutions would be and seeing as I love a good list, I thought I’d share them with you all.
- Meal Plan EVERY week – I save a fortune when I do this which is why it’s so important that I stick to this one.
- Lose Weight – I hate the word diet but I’m determined to lose wight this year.
- Decorate my house – I’ve lived here for two years now and at the moment it’s very neutral. With it being a new house when we moved it, everything is magnolia and cream and we haven’t done anything. We don’t even have curtains up in all the rooms yet! I like the Shabby Chic style so that’s what I’ll be going for throughout I think.
- Sort out a new mobile phone and make sure I always keep it charged up and with me – My phone has died so I’m after a new one that I can use to tweet when I’m out and about. I’m really after an iphone but I can’t really justify the expense.
- Be an organised Blogger. I am so disorganised sometimes that I forget things like Carnivals and link ups and I don’t always have time to comment on some of the brilliant posts I read so I’m going to be more organised with my time. I even have a notebook now – how sad is that (it is a lovely notebook though)
- Spend less time on my laptop.
- Learn to use my camera – I have a brilliant camera and I haven’t ventured out of Automatic mode yet! I’m really pleased with some of the pictures I’ve taken this year, the firework one below is one of mine and I love the way it turned out.
Mr Frugal and I are going to sit together tonight and make some joint ones – nothing major, just things that we want to do together over the coming year. My contribution to this is going to be a mini break away from home without the kids, his will probably be to go to a Boro match together!!!

Thank you for joining me this year and I wish everyone the very best for 2011 and look forward to seeing you all again next year.
I’ve written this as part of the Friday Club over at Notes from Home. If you want to find out more about the Friday Club, pop over and find out what it’s all about.

Happy new year! Lest hope 2011 is a good one. I plan to enjoy myself a bit more having worked my ass off in 2010.
Happy New Year to you lovely lot. I am also a completely unorganized blogger, but that means life is busy so that's good right. AND my diet starts tomorrow, gulp. Take care x
Happy New Year to you all too x x
Good luck with your diet 😉
A belated Happy New Year! I love your resolutions, many of mine are the same. I agree about the organised blogging thing, it's so hard to keep track of everything that is going on these days. I have a separate diary for blogging and work stuff but I still can't keep on top of it all!
Thanks for taking part in the carnival x
Happy New Year to you too – I love your new Blogging diary over on your blog. It's an excellent idea and might help with my resolution lol
January doesnt seem the right time for serious resolutions to me. Spring seems more the time. I think you will get the use from an iphone so just go for it Mrs!
I'm definitely thinking I'm going to get one – just have to buy myself out of my existing contract rather than wait till August when it runs out….
I love January for resolutions but I agree that Spring is also a good time, when everything is refreshing itself – I'll have to have a whole new set for Spring then lol
happy newyear! Hope everyones recovering ok? 🙂
Happy New Year x
Happy new year to you and yours. S x x
Happy New Year to you all too x x
Can I share my 'buy and iPhone' logic with you. I badly wanted one and held out for months. I searched and googled until I was blue in the face and came to the conclusion that anything that came close to an iPhone also came close to it in cost and if I didn't get one I would probably spend more trying to find something like it. I still balked at the cost, but 6 months on I have no regrets whatsoever. #justsaying
Happy New Year to you and your lovely family. Jen
I love your buy an Iphone logic – I think you're exactly right! Just need to talk husband into buying me out of my exisiting contact for my old phone now!
I hope you and your family have a great 2011 x x
Happy New Year to you all! I'll join you with the meal planning! Am thinking of joining in with Fitness Friday on Monkeying around if you fancy it too? Will hopefully keep me on track if I have the support of loads of others in the same boat to lose some weight. (If I can stay away from all the lovely fresh bread out here for longer than five minutes!)
I need to be more organised with my blog (and the new one come to think of it) as they often get neglected and even though I star things I want to come back to or remember to link up to on GReader, I even forget to do that – I've started putting things in my diary or I'll never remember!
You can add another new years resolution to your list – teach me how you do all your cute button/logo things and how you manage to get your pics like that in a collage! (The kids look adorable by the way) x
Thanks very much x x
I'm definitely back on the Slimming world tomorrow – can't start today because it's a bank holiday lol. I might try that fitness friday as well – I'll write it in my super organised bloggy book. How sad am I?
I love your new blog header so I can tick that part of the resolution of my list. For collages you can use the free version of smilebox – I used to use picassa but smilebox is way simpler and you can do all sorts with it – slide shows, cards, collages – the works 😉
Happy New Year to you all x x
Happy New Year to You and Yours!
You have some great New Years resolutions !
I want to get a new cell phone too! The thing is I had and I-phone and thought I didn't like it and gave it away….now I know it is one of the best phones out there and I am planning on getting another one….because I don't have the heart and I know it isn't right to ask for my old one back.
I also want to loose weight this 2011! So good luck in all that you want to do!!!!!!
I bet you're gutted about the Iphone, I had the chance to get one but I went for a cheaper option last year and now I'm stuck in a contract with a phone I hate grrrrrr
All the best for 2011 x x
