Every week I share five frugal things that I’ve done during the previous week just to show you that the small things you do all add up to a great frugal lifestyle where you can learn to live a fabulously frugal life.

Hey! 👐
1) I think this is the third week running that I’ve been able to start this post with a bargain bunch of flowers and I think this is my favourite bunch so far…

This bunch of sunflowers were just over half price at £2.09 and I love them! 🌻
We’ve had some viewings on the house this week so having fresh flowers in the house has been lovely – I can’t control very much of how people feel about the house itself but it makes me feel good to have fresh flowers in the house when they look around.
I can’t change the layout of the house and the decoration is pretty much as neutral as it’s going to get right now so all I can do is make sure it’s spotless, reasonably clutter free and has some homely touches throughout which is where the flowers come in. 😁
2) I love a good clean house (who doesn’t) but even more so with people coming to look around the house.
I want everything sparkling and clean when anyone comes in to our home because, even though I know they’re looking at the house, I feel like they’re also judging the home a little bit.

I was tempted to go and buy every cleaning product that Home Bargains stocked but I stayed strong and just bought my usual Zoflora. I can’t remember what this specific scent is but it’s really fruity and fresh and smells lovely. The scent lingers for a good while so if I can smell it just enough as we’re showing people around the house. It’s always been a cleaning favourite for me as it does such a good job cleaning and is such good value for money.
3) We always check the Petrol Prices app before we fill up with petrol – always unless I’ve left it too late to make it to anywhere but the one right near our house that is.
This week we had a quick check before we filled our bug up and the difference in the 10 petrol stations nearest to use was actually 6p per litre which is more than it usually is. I know it’s not the biggest saving in the world but it’s just short of £3 a tank which adds up quite quickly when my commute to work is an hour round trip.

I could save even more money by driving a more fuel efficient car I suppose but I love this car so the fact that it drinks petrol like I drink Pepsi Max just means that we need to make sure that we get the best price for petrol.
We’re winning if we can save £10 a month filling her up and another £10 a month on our main car which is much more fuel efficient but does lots more miles as we use it daily for everything other than my drive to work.
4) We had homemade pizza for tea this week using some pizza dough that we had in the freezer from our local farm shop, some chicken that we had leftover from Sunday dinner and some tinned sweetcorn from the cupboard.

I can easily make pizza dough (and have a great recipe here) but when we saw the ready made pizza dough balls in the freezer of our farm shop, we decided it was a brilliant idea that would save us time and support the farm shop which we love. They were just balls of dough that just need to be taken out of the freezer a couple of hours before you need them and each one was enough for a biggish size pizza (or two smaller sized ones) – inexpensive and I’m much more likely to make pizza for tea as it’s such an easy option.
5) I know I’ve said this before but it’s important to me to save money where I can so there’s more money to do the good stuff in life – things like travel, fun days and eating out when we want to.
I never used to really use loyalty schemes other than the biggies like Tesco but over the last year or so, I’ve been much better and have loads downloaded on my phone.

This week I earned a £5 voucher on my Morrisons card which I’ll be honest took forever as I don’t shop there too often but I also changed £2 worth of points into vouchers to go with the other £9 of vouchers that I already have in there.
I also used my Subway card for a free subway for me as I did a tea run for my partner’s nightshift team one night which takes no longer to do for a team as it does for just him which I was doing anyway. I had enough points to use to get myself a salad which I actually didn’t enjoy as I thought I’d try something new seeing as it was free haha – a meatball marinara salad is not for me. 😁
Hope you’ve had a good week and saved yourself lots of money!
