- We’re away on a last minute break this week so I cashed in the spare change that we save and found out we’d saved £21.54 since the last time we cashed in – extra spending money for our week away!
- Miss Frugal likes to drink bottled water as she says it tastes different to tap water but I save the bottles and on a night I fill them with tap water and put them in the fridge so when she thinks she’s drinking bottled water, it’s more often than not actually tap water!
- Packed a lovely packed lunch picnic for our loooong journey so we don’t need to pay service station prices.
- Got some great deals in the reduced section – lots to go in the freezer for when we come back from our little mini break.
- Written a fantastic meal plan that involves lots of our favourite meals.
- Used the Coinstar machine to change the spare change mentioned above and instead of getting the cash I got a voucher to use in store. I may or may not have bought wine with the voucher!
- Got caught by Miss Frugal whilst filling the water bottles with tap water! Suddenly she’s a connoisseur and can taste the difference.
- We may or may not have eaten the packed lunch mentioned above within an hour of home so still ended up paying service station prices!
- Let Mr Frugal unpack and he somehow put my bargains in the fridge and not the freezer. He noticed the next morning and threw everything away as he’s very strict with use by dates!
- I may or may not have ordered a takeaway when chicken wrapped in bacon and smothered in BBQ sauce seemed like too much effort after a long day!

I think wine with the voucher is totally justified!
I must try making a meal plan. I assume it would make everything so much easier, especially shopping…
This post made me chuckle! Just the sort of things that would happen in my life!
Love love love your blog so much, my teen is very funny about tap water too xx

Lol – the important thing is we all try to be frugal! I did laugh at this post – thanks for sharing!
So funny! I do the same with water bottles but luckily haven't been caught out yet.
Brilliant! Sometimes it's worth being frugal just so you can fritter away your savings on treats! I love the tip about filling the water bottles :-0
Whoops!! Still, good to be unfrugal once in a while !
Ha ha! Well at least the thought was there! Better look next time!
Oh well, we all do these non-frugal things sometimes. We may or may not be having a take away tonight too :-s
