If you’re someone with a lot of responsibilities in your life, and you’re already relying on the delicate balance you’ve struck between all of them, then it probably feels like your health comes last in the procession. Your kids look up to you, your partner depends on you, and you’ve got a job you love to turn up to every day, to make sure you’ve still got those career ambitions on track – where do you and your wellbeing fit into all of this?!
You’ve probably been trying to fit your health needs into the cracks of time you have in your extremely active family life; picking up multivitamins whilst grocery shopping, sitting down for five minutes to rest your feet and message a headache away, reading a bit of a book before you go to bed to make sure you can relax properly into sleep etc. And all of these things can do wonders for your brain and body, but are they doing enough?
Now’s the time for you to get your healthy life back on track, and find ways to actually fit it in around everything else you’ve got to cope with. It’s your life, and you certainly need some energy to get on with it, so let’s make sure you’re in perfect health before we go any further! Here are a few ideas you might be able to put to good use…
Get the Kids Interested
If you have kids, making sure they’re interested in their own wellbeing will make it a much easier job for you to take care of your own. They’ll be more open to eating the dinners your healthy meal plans provide and will be far more understanding of any illnesses in the family you have to cope with as well – after all, you can save some much needed minutes and hours here if your children gobble up their five bean soup for lunch without complaint!
Your kids are your future, and they’re going to be part of the up and coming generation that we want to be better than our own. And because of this, it’s good to get them interested in their own healthy and safety when they’re young, and to make sure they’re always feeling secure in their own minds and bodies. You want your kids to grow up happy and healthy, more than anything else in the world, and one of the best ways to do that is to show them just how to manage that from day one!
So get them interested in ideas such as eating fresh fruit and veg on a daily basis, as well as teach them to open up to you whenever they have a problem they don’t feel like they can take on. Even four or five year olds will sometimes feel like the whole world is against them, especially because they have no experience of what that will actually feel like when they become an adult, so it’s best to show them what a healthy chat and a bit of brainstorming with someone they love and trust can do for their happiness! And not only that but if you can encourage them to drink things like water and smoothies on a regular basis, rather than having soda or pop in the fridge for them to take, means you’ll be able to eliminate a reliance on sugar, compared to just indulging in it from time to time. A little bit of forward thinking when you’re at the supermarket is all it takes to make your health easier to manage alongside your family life!
Get Your Medication Online
You probably don’t have a lot of time to be traipsing in and out of the doctor’s office, getting a prescription for medication you need on a regular basis, and then waiting anything from 15 minutes to a half hour to get it filled out and handed to you. The whole process can make you feel like hell, and it sucks up some precious time you could be putting to better use, such as having a relaxing bath or frying up some tasty chicken to properly sate your hunger whilst the kids aren’t home!
So to cut this need out of your life completely, be sure to reorder your nhs prescriptions online, and get on with your life whilst the pharmacy sorts everything out for you. Not to mention, when there’s a courier on hand to deliver the prescription to you, you’re not even going to have to leave your house at the end of the day! It’s quick and painless, and doesn’t take long to get yourself started with.
The internet is a wonderful resource after all, and in between diagnosing yourself on sites such as WebMD, be sure that you’re getting some proper medical help from the same source.
Take a Trip to the Park
You need some fresh air, and the chance to stretch your legs. Think you don’t have any time for it? Think again! Sure, the kids’ need their dinner doing stat, and your teenager is sat upstairs on their console, and you feel like you can’t drag any of them away. Well, now’s the perfect chance for you to do just that – drop setting the table, turn the cooker off, and spoon whatever you were making into a sealable pot you can cram into a bag. It’s time to go on a picnic, even when it’s 5 in the evening and everyone has school tomorrow!
When you take yourself out to the park, on both a regular and whimsical basis, you’re doing all kinds of incredible things for your brain and body. You’re exposing yourself to some natural light and air, which does wonders for your skin and lungs, and you’re getting in some very beneficial exercise in the form of walking – it’s the best way to cut down the cellulite on your legs! And when the kids have plenty of room to run around and kick around a ball, they’re going to be having a lot more fun as a family compared to sequestering themselves away in their rooms for the rest of the day.
Don’t worry, you don’t have to make this too much of a regular habit, and even planning it can make it seem like you’re having to add another task onto your already long list! So let it be whimsical, let it happen as frequently or infrequently as you like, and watch in glee as your kids love the occurrence more and more as it goes on.
Ready to Get a Little Healthier?
Health is hard to keep track of, and often enough it involves getting your family involved in the whole process, but it’s one that’ll make sure you’re on your feet for as long as you need to be, in a world that seems to stack the odds against you. You’re doing just fine as the head of your household, and now’s your chance to make sure you’re in the best of health to stay that way!
So involve your children, stick to a diet regime in a challenge with your partner, make sure you’re all going outside as a family at least once a week, and don’t let your usual schedule stress touch any of these plans. Your health matters more than anything else, and your kids will thank you for all the effort you put in one day from now!
