I’m pretty sure that I’ve mentioned hundreds a few times that I love moving house and since I bought my first house, I’ve moved house four times and spent countless hours searching for our next dream home browsing online estate agents sites.
As much as I love where we live now, I do love looking at other people’s houses. I like to see how they’re decorated and get ideas for what I’d like to do in my own house but even sadder than that, I like to pretend that I’ve won the lottery and find a house that I would like to live in if money was no object.
I sometimes forget that these sites are not just there for sole purpose of me being nosey and day dreaming, they’re actually there for a reason. They help people to sell their houses by getting them out there for more people to see – if I want to look at what’s available to buy or to rent in a specific location anywhere in the country then I can because they list properties from the majority of local estate agents.
But it’s not just your local estate agent who can help you sell your home and get the details online these days. You can now choose to bypass your local estate agents (along with their rather large fees) if you choose to sell your house using an online estate agency, such as MyOnlineEstateAgent.com who recently published some figures which calculated that UK Homeowners could have saved £3.5billion pounds last year if they’d chosen online estate agents.
Online estate agencies can help you sell your house for a fraction of the price which is a big plus point considering how expensive it is to move house – something which I’m using to my advantage during my ongoing ‘please let’s move house again’ negotiations with Mr Frugal.
Keep your fingers crossed for me.

I am always looking at houses. Just trying to convince Hubby that we should move.
I think it depends on the house and the area. We tried an online agent for our grade 2 listed apartment in an upmarket village. With hindsight that was a mistake and we needed a local agent with knowledge of the market in our area. If I was selling a relatively new, fairly standard housing estate property I would probably give online agents a go, but our current house that we will be selling soon is also bit Marmite so we’ll stay local I think. Interesting post, I hope you get your dream house soon.x
I'm a little bit addicted to browsing online estate agents! I'm forever searching for my dream home x
