I definitely think its important to encourage gratitude especially at Christmas time. I love buying presents for my son but we always stick to a sensible budget for us.

I love the idea of letting your children help some less fortunate children. My daughter will be 4 at the end of January and I think she wouldn't quite understand it this year, but it's definitely something I will do with her next year.

Trying to be frugal at Christmas is a whole other topic. Her mum and I separated when she was two and for the last two Christmases I can't help but feel it's a competition between her mum and I, who gives the most presents 🙁

Lovely post! I think it is so important to teach children the value of gratitude. I want my daughter to grow up realising the most important things in life are not THINGS and it is something we work so hard at! x
