Last night we bought a huge box of strawberries from the supermarket for just £1.50 – and when I say a huge box, I really do mean huge!

Master Frugal was in charge of cooking tea as Miss Frugal is away on a school residential in York and he decided to treat us to his speciality (mainly because it’s all he can cook) of eggy bread followed by a Strawberry Pavlova for pud.
So, after an unscheduled trip to the shop to replace the eggs I smashed on the kitchen floor and a gorgeous main course of eggy bread and ketchup, he got on with making the pudding for us.
He piled as many stawberries as he could on top of a giant pavlova base that we’ve had in the cupboard for what seems like forever, sprinkled a little bit of sugar on them and then topped it with squirty cream.
Voila, Strawberry Pavlova….

Eggy bread and Strawberry pavlova – Not your usual Monday night tea but delicious all the same!

What a great menu – eggy bread with ketchup and strawberry pavlova – brilliant!
I like the look of that pud. Wouldn't mind one for dinner tonight 🙂

Mark is planning to make it for weeks now.. so far no luck
That looks delicious and so easy to do too!
This looks very tasty! Quick and simple tea-I like it!
I love eggy bread! I love meringue! I love strawberries! I love squirt cream! Can I come to yours for tea?
Fantastic. I love simple and quick meal ideas. This looks delicious and something my elder kids could make themselves (while I have a cup of tea)
There is nothing wrong with eggy bread for tea, sounds like a great option to me!
I LOVE pavlova, and the ready made bases are brilliant for kids – saves all that whisking too – really must buy an electric whisk!
Can I just have meringue and cream please?! x

Can I have an invite next time? This looks too yummy! x
