Last month, we did something a little different for our family holiday — we went to Bulgaria on a package holiday! It’s not somewhere we’d ever really thought about before if I’m honest and when we discussed what to do for our Summer holiday with the kids, a package holiday wasn't our first thought. We usually plan everything ourselves, booking the flights and hotels separately, but this time we fancied something a bit easier as we'd already been lucky enough to do a couple of other very busy holidays this year and for the first time ever, the thought of lazing about on a sunbed with … [Read more...]
How to get a Priority Pass for Disneyland Paris…
We went to Disneyland Paris over the Summer and had an amazing time! I always try and do a bit of research before we go anywhere new and I know it's a bit sad but I'll always find one or two Facebook groups dedicated to the places we're going to so I can get as many tips as I can for things to do and see so I know we're not missing out on any of the good stuff. I did the same for Disneyland Paris and got some great tips on when and where to see the characters, which rides are quieter at certain times and in general, loads of ways to make our time there even better. One question … [Read more...]
Three ways to squeeze in some travel this year…
This year I'm all about seeing as much as I can of the world, and that means the UK as well as travelling further afield because there's so much of this country that I haven't seen yet and so much that I have seen but want to explore more. I have lots of plans this year to really maximise the time that we have off work and the budget that we have available so I thought I'd share a few of them with you today... First up, I'm going to take advantage of any travelling that I'm lucky enough to do with work by using time I have available before or after meetings to explore wherever I am. London is … [Read more...]
Extreme Day Trips – the truth….
Have you heard of an extreme day trip? It's basically a day trip that's a little bit further afield then the average day trip and usually involves an aeroplane to get there. It’s perfectly possible to visit many places in a day, going out on the first flight of the day and coming back on one of the last flights. And not only is it possible, it can actually be ridiculously cheap to do this as well because of all the low cost airlines competing for business now. I first heard about the idea of an extreme day trip a couple of months ago when a group popped up in my Facebook feed which … [Read more...]
How I stopped mosquitos biting me….
Mosquitoes love me.Like really love me.The problem is that when I get a mosquito bite, the whole area around it swells up and is super painful for days afterwards, sometimes even up to a week. And I never get just one bite, I get clusters of them which over the years has really impacted my enjoyment of holidays - I’m either so itchy that I can’t enjoy myself or watching out for any flying insect that could be a mosquito. And for the last few years, I’ve done more research on how bad mosquitoes are in a particular area that I’ve done about the area … [Read more...]
How I plan what we do when we’re on holiday….
If you know me, then you’ll know that I love to travel.I studied Lesiure and Tourism at college and thought I’d found my dream job when I managed to get a job in a local travel agency when I left there but as much as I loved the job, the pay wasn’t great and when I bought my first house, I needed to change my career path in pursuit of a better paying job. I managed to get a good job and have worked my way up and now I’m in a very lucky position that I can afford to travel a little bit - albeit on a budget. The excitement of booking a holiday never gets old and for me, the … [Read more...]
